Well I made it home. It was in fact the Powder Blue that died. The Regal is doing amazing, as is Picasso and the Cardinals. Petey on the other hand, not so much. Ich has returned, and hard too. He seemed panicked at times when I first examined the tank. So I don't know exactly why, but he does seem to be under stress. I'll have to keep a close eye on him, and dish out another fortune on Paraguard. Maybe a quick recovery if I'm lucky. Could it be lack of food? During feeding tonight he was very slow and missed out on most of the food. I'm wondering if I will have to try to feed him separately. He always seemed to get his fair share before. Could it be more likely that he never completely shook the ich the first time?

We had a ton of work unpacking and getting settled back into the house that I only had time to give the glass a good cleaning. I did see some unusual growth on my LR in places that I want to take pictures and share in case I have some problems on my hands. It's difficult for me to describe them (color blind) so it would be best to take picts when I get the chance.

I also mixed up some water for a change tomorrow. New filter socks, Skimmer cleaning... a few things on the agenda.

So I've tried, and tried, and tried to get a decent photo of the Tang.... pretty well impossible. Here's the best I've been able to do.

Oh man... Poor Petey. Big Tuna how have you been? Looks like the tank is doing well besides the Ich. I hope he pulls through it and you can continue with the happy family you have. I always hate to think about losing em. I was devastated at new years.

That reminds me I need to do water tests tomorrow and get my salinity spot on.

Isolation isn't an option yet. He is definitely doing better already. The spots are still present on him, but seem to be disappearing rather quickly since I've been home. Poor guy missed me. :)

I got a pretty good bite the other day. I became a little complacent with my fish. I guess they seemed friendly towards me and eachother that I didn't think there was much of a threat. After a water change I needed to adjust my return nozzle as it was pushing sand out of the front. I had my hand in there for a min or so and boom! Triggerfish took a small chunk out of my thumb! My guess is that my thumb was just barely tapping the surface and it looked like an inviting snack. He packs quite a punch, and I learned a lesson the hard way.

Wow, and Saltnoob and I complain when our ocellaris charge us. They don't take chunks out. Be careful. A LFS owner that I see a lot always wears gloves when she's working in her tanks and sometimes a tomato clown can even bite through it, so I can imagine what a triggerfish can do.

Yikes!

Wow. Major Fail Triggerfish! Why is it no matter what pet you've got they end up taking a bite? :p

Glad Petey is getting better poor thing.

Ya my bigger black occ was not happy I was cleaning the coralline out of their corner. He nipped at me real lightly. but WOW trigger. yikes

Ya and my Trigger is big, but he will get quite a bit larger, as will his bite. :)

Today I was able to escape to the city to get some filter socks and a new heater. I was looking around at fish and one of my favorites I've seen on the internet was present. This is the first time I've ever seen one live. A Black banded Angel. $799. Yep, $800 larger for him. I know he's cool and I know he's rare, but wow. One of his pectoral fins was a little beat up and definitely had some sort of infection on it. If he was healthy and a whole lot cheaper, he'd be mine! :D I'll keep my eye open, but I'm pretty sure I can scratch Black Banded Angel off my wish list.

 Thats expensive! I saw a Dr Suess soapfish on Liveaquaria recently, 3 inches long, and it was 6,000$!

what!? I just google imaged that fish and I don't find him special at all. Am I missing something?

I did get into a discussion with the manager at the FS. He is the guy that set me up and got me started in this hobby. His favorite fish are the cardinals that I bought from him and he thinks that even though the Trigger and Puffer leave them alone right now it is just a matter of time before they become lunch. I don't want to give them back as they were my first two fish. So I think I will be speeding up the shopping on the All in One I am planning for my reef tank.

So I was able to play around with my camera a little bit tonight. I wanted to get a good clear shot of Petey so that I could show how well he has recovered. Unfortunately he was way too hyper to get any real good clear shots of him. It looks as though he only has a couple spots left on him. I haven't used any paraguard this time around. I've left my Skimmer and UV running, a few water changes, and back to a regular routine has seemed to do the trick. And fast.

Here's how everything is looking at the moment. Water change was done yesterday, and water is showing that.

Group shot. Unclear shot of Petey.

I am curious about the bright spots in the sand? They pop up quite quickly after changes at the front of the tank.

Here is a dark spot growing on the rock that I was curious about before. I have cleaned a few similar spots during my last water change. I am just curious if this is a bad sign or indication of something I should know???

Does the spot come off easy? Like wipes off?

Petey is so cute. I'm not into big fish like that, but Petey is cute. :)
