I'm 16. I am not over weight. But, that does not mean I am skinny either. I would post a picture of me in my swimming trunks from last year, but I think it's against the rules. I am trying to lose a big of weight; but honestly, I just need to exercise and gain some muscle. I weigh about 158 pounds, I'm 5 feet and 8 inches tall) I have start replacing things in my diet though. I work at Panera Bread (a bakery cafe) and I used to pick up a blueberry or french toast bagel in the morning along with a cup of coffee. Now, I make a parfait at home with 1/2 cup of Organic Cherry Vanilla Granola cereal, and about a half cup of fat free yogurt. I also do my best to drink unsweetened tee, and I add 2 sweet 'n lows (zero calorie sweetener) in a 32oz glass. Being that I work at Panera, I eat there a lot. I get 65 percent off, and I used to get what ever I want. So, now I get a ham and cheese on three cheese bread toasted (it's like 400 calories) and then a cup of soup. It's a lot less than what I used to get.

I would be working out, but I have been busy with school, a girlfriend, and work. It's a lot to fit into my day.

this week i have started walking when i go out to dinner. if my coworkers order pizza with me, it is a 10 minute walk their and back up a hill both ways. all in all i think i have always worked well on a reward system of sorts. what got me though college, do something good for myself then do something bad for myself.

i can't see myself giving all junk food, I just see myself revaluating what junk and how much in my body.
where once i used to easily down four slices of pizza i do two, i stay away from all sodas now except for ginger ale (it helps settle my stomach)

i think mostly you need a change in life style and attuide in order to make an impact on your life and habits.

when i have pizza i eat loads, and i mean loads! but if you only do it every so often then it won't make you fat. :good:

Forgot to go for my 30 minute jog tonight!

see your all trying to lose weight and i canot put any on :( i assure you being skinny is not a good thing....if your a man anyway!

man ive been working out for the past 2 years and eating stupid amounts....im 22 and 8.4stone!! that is a problem

Im naturally lean but when I workout I gain 20-25 lbs of muscle in 2 months. I workout 5 days a week tho and my normal day consists of

protein shake when I wake up, after 2 hrs 4 eggs and 7 lb rice, after 4 hrs 1/4 chicken and rice/salad, after 3 hrs michelina spaghetti and protein shake b4 workout, workout for 1 - 1 1/2 hrs, after workout another protein shake, after 2 hrs steak and rice then sleep :D try that.

I guess for those losing weight I would advice doing cardio workouts like running, sprinting, push-ups, chin-ups, skipping ropes, I think that will help a lot and eat lean. I do handstand pushups.

If possible i'd say low impact cardio like bike, rowing or something.

And pushbups and chin ups aren't cardio

I should be about 7-8 stone but i'm 10.

Call it puppy fat, according to your profile you're only 13 I wouldn't say there is that there is much cause for concern though I don't know your height. Find out your BMI, and make sure it lands between 20 and 25 its a rough estimate on whether you're healthy. Don't take it to heart if you land a little above 25, Its definitely better to be above 25 a little than below 20.

Don't get stuck into all this dieting crap and especially not at your age. Best advice I can give you is when your Parents/Guardian whatever/wherever you are offer your chips or a jacket potato/salad/veg opt for the latter. It's easy to lose weight just making a tiny change in your diet. I'm a prolific meat eater and consume sometimes ludicrous amounts of steak and sometimes my weight might change however its usually pretty stable I put that down to the fact I always prefer salads or veg over chips!

Im about 5ft10 and around 70kg.

Edit: Do NOT rely on the Wii for a weight readout. Its not that accurate, my friends is out by 3.5 kg when he weighs himself and then jumps on some Salter scales. The Wii "exercises" are also pretty pathetic, I was just thinking of what you could do to help and if you are in secondary school you could go see if your P.E teacher does any "Circuit Training" at lunch times or after school. A couple of weeks of that I you will definitely feel a difference. I did that for a whole year and the beep training.

I'm the same, I'm trying to build muscle at the moment and 3000 calories a day for me still is doing nothing.

Reminds me of that weight gain 3000 episode in South Park! If I want to put weight on it takes months and months for it to show. However I also do a lot of rock climbing, I guess its beneficial for my muscles not to be big and rather better be slimmer and toned.

well...ive got myself a load more weights and a workout gym on its way all because of this thread lol thats bad huh? either way good luck to all who are trying to lose your weight but i just want to add....put your health first its MUCH more important ;)
