I am Trying to lose weight for our trip to india at the end of november for our son's 1st birthday celebrations.
Due to medications I had to take, I have ballooned to over 24 Stone.
Have reduced my calorie intake and cut out as much as I can without making me ill. I try to do at least an hours exercise every day and try to walk at least 4-6 Miles A day.
I would like to lose at least 8 stone, will be consulting for a gastric band if necessary.

being diabetic tends to keep me on the light side so I am tall and skinny, use to work out but decided it was a waste of my time, and my sports are done for the season so I will when they start, but till then i will try to focus on my school work.

Just done my wii fit and i've gained weight! I exercise and don't eat alot but i've gained 3lb since last week!

Here's a related question. I really should eat a bigger, 'proper' breakfast, because at the moment all I do is scavenge whatever rubbish I've got laying around in my room, which really isn't good. And I'm absolutely starving by mid morning. The problem is I don't generally have much time, and being in Uni accomodation, the state of the kitchen in the morning really doesn't suit making anything much and I don't have, say, a blender, so smoothies are out. Any ideas?

When you get the chance to cook something just cook up extras and microwave later. I do that a lot, I cook a lot of rice and grill a lot of steaks then microwave them later, Im on a pretty high protein diet. i don't really like cooking, just like to eat

There are a lot of complications from gastric lap bands and most people don't end up losing the weight that they want to. I think gastric bypass is a better option but that's just my opinion. SH

My routine is:

Monday
10 minutes on bike,
stretch
25 minutes on treadmill
5 minutes on rowing machine

chest press
inclined chest press
tricep extensions (machine)
tricep extensions (cable)
can't remember off hand but another 2 toning exercises

as you can see Monday focuses heavily on triceps.

Wednesday:
first section the same
second section focuses on biceps and back

Friday:
first section the same
second section focuses on legs with a couple extras for muscles missed the other days.

Weekend:
swimming

My first week of it was hell.

After the Mondays routine I couldn't bend my arms for 2 days. It felt like I had broken arms. Very painful.
After the weds routine I couldn't straighten arms for 2 days very painful.

My first week actually took 2 weeks to get through but now is getting pretty easy. Which just means I need to put weights up.

If anyone is interested, this should help you if you just want to make sure you are eating less calories than you are burning.
Check out my fitness pal. There is a website and iPhone app.

It'll help you keep track of your calories to help lose weight.

Can't give a full recommendation since not used it much yet.

I have that app along with runkeeper and gym buddy. So I can track my runs with runkeeper, even seeing what route I've taken on a map afterwards. I can see different excercises for the gym with gym buddy and track calories with myfitnesspal (.com)

i have been doing what i can at work, on my brakes i climb to the top of the building (five stories) then going back and forth then walking around the property. all and all i dedicate at least 15 minutes to my dinner time on walking

Or cut the middle man and cycle to work.
