Barney's New Marine Journal - 150l Upgrade.

I have pretty much moved in with my girlfriend at the moment so not been at my place very much. As such about all thats gone on with the tank for the last 4 or 5 weeks is a quick check and feed twice a day, change container of RO top up water and a weekly/bi-weekly water change.

The Cyano is still there but not getting any worse. Suprising despite my neglect the tank is doing really well. The bubble coral has a new head on it, the zoas are spreading really quickly and the frags are all getting really big. Even the GSP I thought I had stranded on its own rock has managed to work its way down and spread onto the rock below it.

I must also say that my girlfriend is really getting into the whole marine tank thing and has been looking at 6ft tanks for us when we move into a new place :) Im SO lucky!! :)

I did find last night though that I have lost a head on my torch coral. I beleive it was because of the way I had it placed. The heads at the bottom where well covered by the ones at the top and I just dont think it was getting enough light. I have moved it now to get more light on the remaining bottom heads.

Luke, I guess there is about 20-25kg in there. Not 100% sure exactly how much is there though. I could do with a little more I think but it is ok for now.

Ben, Yeah I will do :) We have to find somewhere to move to first though so probably not going to be happening for awhile.

Will have to try and take a few photos soon to show how much some of the corals have grow since the last ones.

I will be putting some new pictures up over the next couple of weeks. I have just got a new house with my girlfriend which means I have to move everything (which is going to be a massive PITA). Unfortunately we cant fit a 6ft tank in the new house but there is a perfect spot for a 5ft one so we are trying to get one of these now.

Before I move the tank though im going to take a load of photos so will put them up here when I do :)

And if anyone in the Kent area (UK) has a 5ft tank for sell drop me a pm :)

Me too :) Looking at the moment like it will be a rio 400 as these are the most common 5ft tanks for sub £200 (second hand). Just a matter of waiting for one to come up that is within a reasonable driving distance. I'm fairly gutted coz I missed out on a free 5x2x2 tank which was just up the road by about 2 hours.

woohoo! Got a 5ft vision 450, drilled with a 3ft sump for £150 :) just got to arrange to pick it up. Moving house this weekend too so will be a bit of a mad rush. Good job my other half is even more into then me as the tank is probably going to be the first thing that is set up in the house :)
