Update:
My other ram(Spike) seems a lot happier since the passing of the other ram.
My Amazon frogbit as grown significantly which is what I was hoping for so there’s more cover at the top of the aquarium.
I have also changed the layout of the aquarium so that I can add a new plant tomorrow and have more hiding spots for my new fish.

Today I bought the new fish. They didn’t have as much stock as I hoped. However they did have an EBA and a keyhole cichlid. They are both happy in the tank and getting on really well. The ram showed a particular dislike to the keyhole when first introduced but they now they seem to be getting on.
