Anyone Else Think This Is Disgusting?

Personally, I hate these threads and the one mentioned about the ebayer trying to sell fry. No good ever comes of them. People get upset and if someone makes a remark that is taken wrong, they get flamed. As long as someone can make a buck selling these type things they will. And there will always be a market for them as people decide they want to keep a fish but don't want the expense of a tank. A bowl is cheap and easy even if it isn't in the best interest of the fish.

I know this is a fish forum and not the world news forum but there are more important things to worry about. The majority of the world population couldn't possibly care less about a fish and whether the container they are kept in is "ethical" or not. They would be more concerned about the one on their plate than any in a tank. Most people have the "it's just a fish" attitude and that's never going to change.

I read this thread this morning after locking the other and it seemed to have been a happy ending so I left it. Somewhere along the lines since then it has gone a different route. There will be rules set up specifically for the betta forum tomorrow.

For The Attention Of All Members That Contributed To This Forum:-
(In particular Bronzecat as he achieved the positive result)

Last night (21/04/09-22/04/09) there were a few posts on this (and another) thread that should not have been made. I believe that it was my lengthy post on this thread that lead to the diversion of this topic in to something that is not typical of the spirit of Tropical Fish Forums. I want to take the opportunity offered to me to make it publicly known that I do wholeheartedly apologise to all members of this forum that contributed to this thread for making the post that took this topic so far off course. It was not my intention, I did however feel that in some way that the points I made were relevant, clearly not so.

However, please do not allow this to take anything away from the successful outcome achieved by Bronzecat, and please do not allow it to deter from the good work that so many of you do to protect the welfare of all fish that you are able to assist.

Once again, I do sincerely apologise.

Yours Faithfully,

Devorax, (real name Pete Domone, aged 29)
