We have the live chat-i've been in it-its rare to see many members in there. If they dont use that then why bother.

Live chat is used, maybe not when your on but it is being used.

Does this mean a zero tolerance policy on general chat in Fish parts of the forum?

There's been a lot of general chat going on in Tropical Discussion. If making a seperate forum would get it out of there, then I'm fine with it.

been talked to death in the mod forum and the answer is no to a general chat forum. many reasons why and why not were discussed and the majority felt it wasnt a good thing to do on the boards. so on that note more rigorous modding for non forum related posts is going to start, so if your thread disappears then theres a good reason it went..

Im sure all forums have thier own specific header... but how many do you see without a general chat..

Some people who become friends on here would like to sometimes talk about toher things other than fish and get to know each other better and i think its a good thing to have a community who can interact more.

Next comes the comment about msn etc, so il reply to that now to save time..

Not all people like to give out email addys, and some dont even such things.




Just give us a general chat trial at least, just because it failed in the past dont mean it will now, stick down the guidlines and be heavy on the rules for offenders and i cant see it been a problem.

Don't always need mods for general chat some members on other sites run it.

aww this is very disappointing.. dont think it would have hurt to give it a trial most of us have at some point resorted to genral chat in a thread, and i havent seem any trouble, the problems start arising when people disagree.. and thats IS usually fish related

Multiple people talking and having a luagh in a general discussion is easy, doing it via email or pm, how does more than 2 interact on a proper level

well PM is slow whereas a general chat section would be better. i have msn so i am okay but those who dont are in the poo.
who hasnt got msn and wants a general chat section.?? lets see how many people actually want it. me for one.
