An Accidental Jungle

Apparantly I was a good boy this year :D

I hate to think what it's going to take to make it up to my girlfriend!

One is going to be a spawning tank for the Paros from the Bucket of Mud, so blackwater with mainly just moss, ferns and lots of leaves. Third I haven't quite decided on yet.

Gave up trying to find decent nano lights and bought a single 39w Hagen Glo T5.

Found some nice wood too, all those storms around Christmas have produced some great winfall :)

Now just need the tubes and substrate to arrive...

This has a lot of potential. That is some serious wood. Ian will be jealous.

Awesome, I'm in the market for some new wood and I live at the top of a hill in the countryside, there's trees down everywhere here, I'm going for a walk :).

It's dark I'll do it tomorrow lol.

Heh yeah I'm quite keen on the oversized twigs. I picked them up originally with a thought to rescaping the big tank but like the effect in the nanos. Think I might try and get some emergent growth trailing up them.

Wasn't overly sure about the Hagen unit at first but having got rid of the incredibly ugly end bits and got it suspended I think it works OK.

Quick update on two of the tanks seeing as I wanted to show them to someone earlier...

1. Eleocharis acicularis, Lileaopsis brasiliensis, Microsorum pteropus 'trident', bolbitis heudelotii, willow moss.

2. Hygrophila pinnitifada, Hygrophila sp. "araguaia", Cyperus helferi, Blyxa japonica. The blyxa is looking a little sorry for itself as it is still melting following from the move from a high tech tank, but there's new root and leaf growth so think it should be fine.
