Haha, i was a bit worried about using it, it seems a bit rough to be using on glass! It does leave 'scratch' marks in the algea that it doesn't completely get rid of! Maybe you had a bit of sand or something trapped inbetween the magnet and glass?

luckily you can only see it if you kneel down and it aint on a side you look at.

i am lucky as you can only see them when you look close up.

I love the scape with the rock you have atm!
I made the mistake with an algae cleaner on my fresh tank and got some sand grains in it, scratched the front of it pretty bad! Pretty annoying!

Thanks! thats not my final scape, i just keep moving them around and experimenting trying to get ideas for the final scape when I have all my rock! Really need to invest in some kind of sticky stuff too, theres some seriously dangerous balancing going on there! lol

Oh my, I'm so bad at journals! little update, mainly just to remind myself what i have, and what i need to sort out!

So, still only have 20kg of LR, with another 20kg to go. which aint gunna happen for a while coz a mixture of men leaving, babies, dogs, kids, and pregnancies, needing a new car and a deposit on a new house.. money is VERY tight! lol

Stil trying to come up with a good plan for a sump, space is real tight in the cabinet, its divided into 2 side by side sections, 13x20" by 24" high, and to get anything in there, I'd need to empty the tank to dismantle the cabinet as the doors are really narrow! I considered cutting out the dividing piece in the middle, but figured that wouldnt be the best idea, as its only a wooden cabinet, and thats the only support it has! One idea is to build a raised shelf in one side, and drill pipe holes through the middle support, and run 2 sumps.

Have some very interesting hitchhikers in there tho! loads of snails, some real pretty ones, Ive found 2 hermit crabs, and i think 5 red legged hermits too, one of them is in a turbo snail shell. there was 1 peppermint shrimp, I felt a bit sorry for him, so I've since bought another for him to play with, and just bought 2 emerald crabs, to hopefully help sort my GHA problem!

Also just added a bag of rowaphos and a bag of seachem de-nitrate, which will at some point this be added to my fluval 405 filter which I AM going to dig out from the back of my under stair cupboard, so that seffie doesn't tell me off for being lazy!!! lol

apart from trying to remove the GHA, the tank is pretty much on hold for a while, partly down to having 3 kids, a baby and a collie to look after, and partly coz i've been left pregnant by a wonderful man, so need to try and afford things like a bigger house, bigger car, twin pram and another cot etc, while staying sane.. well, as sane as I ever have been lol.

Oh, and I need to order new bulbs.... DO NOT FORGET, JU!

No me either!! Only 4 children at the moment tho, for a few months anyway lol.. unless you count the dog, who quite often takes more time and evergy than the kids put together lol! I try and get most tank related things done while 3 of them are at school, if the baby lets me!

Ahh well, now that I have to move house becasue of baby, I'm also hoping to plan an upgrade!! This tank was the biggest I could fit into my current living room. But now a bigger tank is definately next on the 'to get' list right after house, car, pram and cot! lol

Get saving fishy, then you can too! My upgrade wont be for a while, Ive got sooo much saving to do for other things before I even start saving for a tank!
