6 Gallon Sanzon Iwagumi

So last night I had a chance to work on the tank. I really went for a simple design which uses three pieces of petrafied wood from Arizona's Petrafied Forest. I plan on having a bladed plant around the rocks, a ground cover in the front and something tall in the back. Probably just the three types of plants though I do like some moss about most of the time.

I purchased a few plants last night, I will post some photos as soon as I can.
One plant I got but hadn't planted on was a Anubias nana. I really like how they look, they are pretty low growing, and in the past I've found them to be very hardy. I got a nice mat of Dwarf Baby Tears(Hemianthus callitrichoides ), and Moneywart (Bacopa monnieri). I've had mixed results with the latter in the past so we'll see.

I have some Dwarf Hair Grass (Eleocharis acicularis) on order.

One plant that I liked but am unsure of as I've never kept is Rotala macranda. I would like to add it to the tank as the red color would be complementary to the rocks.

Sounds good mate, I'm trying out the Macrandra in my tank at the moment, really vivid colour.

Rotala macrandra? So beautiful. I really haven't kept one though so I am unsure about the requirements. What can you tell me about it?

Not much mate so far but its responded well to my conditions, using pressurised CO2 and full fert regime including ferts containing N&P. There will be some pics in my journal tomorrow.

I will run over there and look once you post the photos. I am not sure just how much of a fertilizer regime I'm going to have. I'm hoping the stratum soil I used will make it less necessary but I've never used that soil before.

Your gonna need some dude, esp using pressurised CO2.

I will use some for sure just not sure how regimented it will be or even what kind. I've used FloraPride from Tetra in the past and it worked really well but I know it's not the best fertilizer, not a complete fertilizer anyway.

Here are the plants. They aren't in place of course but you can see what I got. I am hoping when the LFS gets the next shipment of plants in they have another mat of the dwarf baby tears as I really like them.

#32 above has the names. :)

I added three marimo balls (two small and one large) and a lutea. I will plant them all this weekend. The only thing left is the dwarf hair grass when it arrives at the LFS.

None of them are planted as of yet. Once I get it all in order the anubias nana will be on a bit of drift wood I have. It could go on the stone but I want it behind the rock so a bit of wood will do the trick.

That HC is looking a bit brown mate, you dosing this tank yet? If not I'd get started as it might be melting back ready to grow submerged.
