6 Gallon Sanzon Iwagumi

I will try and share my cuttings but right now I only have the one tank and it's small so no real room to replant them. To be honest I didn't expect the amount of growth I have going on, it's way more than I expected. The fish are loving it and so are the shrimp.

I'm actually tempted to get an 8 gallon ADA cube and go a little more all out on it but things are going so well I hate to break it down already, just set it up.

The Scarlet Badis are turning out to be my favorite fish. They are slow moving little hunters and they go about picking of microcrstaceans but they also do just fine taking on a small blood worm, daphnia, or baby brine. They also pick off the tiny newly hatched pond snails which is a surprise as nothing I read stated they would do this.

The chili rasbora like the small stuff and algae and hang out with each other all day long.

Yeah Badis are great, I lost mine this week while re scaping :(.

That's too bad. The dwarf gourami have always been a favorite fish of mine and Dario Dario is so much like they are it's crazy, just a tiny tiny version.

Just an update...I did my fist plant trim and found a friend to give them to. The growth was a bit crazy actually. Much more than I thought it would be so I trimed it all way back. The shrimp are breeding and a couple of the fry even survived the badis long enough to grow too large for them to eat.

I also discovered that the scarlet badis eat pond snails. I didn't know that and have not read anywhere that they did but they do. They go about all day hunting them. They seem to be able to eat the small ones outright and will attack the large ones for a piece of their foot.

I took out most of the duck weed (will get the rest later) and replaced it with frog bit. These are actually two plants I love though they can be a pain to deal with.

I discovered that my marine fish LOVE to eat duck weed. I fed the FW tank and some stuck to my hand, then when I fed the reef they came off and the fish gobbled them up. Granted it's not marine food but they didn't seem to mind.

Wow I just see what's in stock at the lfs lol.

I decided the bacopa and dwarf hair grass was too thin for me so I got golden nesaea and micro-sword to replace it with. The dwarf baby tears suffered under the low light but is starting to come back strong now that I have the LED's on the tank. New pictures to follow soon. All the fish are doing well and very interesting to watch. The shrimp have breed a few times but the scarlet badis get most of the fry. Only a couple have survived to add to the group. Snails have gotten a bit much and I may get an assassin to take care of them. My original plan was to make this a tank for a dwarf puffer so snails were a good thing. But the LFS didn't have them and the scarlet badis caught my eye so I opted for them which has turned out to be a great choice as they are quite good fish. Anyway, that has left me with the snails I had intended for the puffer to eat. Not a big deal though.

Here's a pic I just took of the little tank. Everything is growing well. I changed out the baby tears and hair grass but then upgraded the light so I really could have kept them. I replaced them with microsword which I really like better anyway. The anubias has a bit of algae on the leaves that are away from the flow but the other leaves are fine and it is growing well with a few new leaves showing up.
