Hello and welcome from a fellow newcomer! I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and say I love the overgrown look of your tanks. As a fellow cat servant, I also love your avatar.

This is from a newcomer to the hobby as well as the forum, so feel free to disregard me, but it might be worth getting some more ember tetras to help make the two you've got left feel secure.

Hi! Nice to meet another newbie! Thanks for the comments! Sadly those cats are no longer with us but I love that photo of them so much (I'm determined to get another cat to slave away for soon! I miss their aloof ways, haha).

Regarding the embers, I did consider that, I'm unsure whether I want to commit to having a full shoal of them again, I keep changing my mind because they don't shoal all that well but they do look so pretty amongst the greenery. The two I have are pretty happy hanging about with the green neons for now but I may well cave and get another 20 or so at some point

@CanisDraco I went to Aqualife Leyland today. They have a really nice range of fish and plants, the owner was really nice too. I went in looking for lights mainly but ended up with a neglected 12L fish tank for £8 instead Took a while to clean but is looking much better now. Only issues are a few chips, one on a bottom corner . Will do another water test to see if it holds water still.

You are lucky up north to have some very good fish stores. A youtuber i watch always does fish shop tours your way and i cant believe the choice you have Ive been to Pier and was at Urmston aquatics just the other week. Id like to try Abyss one day

We are very lucky indeed! Pier and Urmston are next on the bucket list for me. Another one you may have heard of is Drop-Off Aquatics near Nantwich. I went there for the first time last year and was amazed by the selection they had.

I Havent heard of drop-off no, but thats only about 1hr away from myself so i will have to add that to my travels

Pier is a top store, its like Aladdin's cave in there. I only rate one place as high as Pier and thats Wharf Aquatics. I wasnt that impressed with Urmston tbh

finest aquatics is another store up north which looks worth a look into

Oooh, who's the YouTuber? I need some more people actually posting interesting things, my YouTube is constantly just full of annoying reels lately
A few years back a few people from the old forum and I did a little fish shop tour around the NW, that's when I got to visit Pier and Aqualife for the first time. We went to The Green Machine as well when it had a store in North Wales, that was an amazing visit, really sad they closed it down.

'Big fish lad'. He does quite a few fish shop tours your way. Mick fish uk also does tours although he doesnt make many video's anymore.
