4Ft (286Litre) 'planted' Tank

Absolutely beautiful! How are they liking it? :)

They love it, so do the 10 or so BN that are in there lol. They have learnt to move fin when the goldies get close lol

Wow Alasse, this tank may well be my favourite, you seriously need to share where you get the fake plants. Lol sorry to hear about Eragon, was the best looking goldie I have ever seen, RIP little man. Also, do you get bored easily, you seem to rescape a lot, like me, lol xxx

The tank is mainly live plants now :) The fakes are the red tiger lotus :)

This was rescaped out of necessity this time around, the decor took up too much room, the goldies are growing and needed the room

Gotta move out the decor this weekend to catch all the BN for measuring to see if they are ready for sale. What is sale size will move out permanently and new BN (mainly peps) added to grow out

So it will get a slight rescape :)

So slight rescape done. Caught and now holding them in nets, 9 peppermint BN and 14 Common bn. 6 of the peps and 5 of the commons going to new homes tomorrow.

Added approx 20 peppermint bn for a month or so to get to sale size. Thinking i need my new 5ft to use as a growout tank lol. The goldies caught 1 small pep and ate it, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I release them into the foliage, but it swam out into the open right in front of the ryukin lol Let it be known, goldies can easily eat a 3cm bn. The BN will soon learn to avoid the big fish lol

The goldies are growing beautifully, i am piling in the food to them. The tank gets about 10-15 algae disks (daily), 1 1/2 handfuls of duckweed (twice a week), good pinch of flakes (daily, hand fed so the goldies do not gulp at surface), shrimp pellets (weekly treat) & de-shelled peas (twice a week)

Added some more PFS to get a bit more depth for the live plants

Sorry one of the peps got eaten :( They're too small to cause damage to the goldies if eaten right? The tank looks beautiful. :)

The risk i take by growing them out in this tank. Well the ryukin is still looking for food today, so i assume he got it down ok.

Cleaned the canister on this tank today....errrr....think i need to do it a bit sooner next time lol

Found about 30+ shrimp in there when i rinsed the media trays, boatload of MTS which hit the rubbish bin, twas a bit feral actually lol

Oh dear :p What'd you do with the shrimp?

They went back into the tank :) Some wern't quick enough to hit cover and became a goldie snack

Update: tonight i pulled all the decor and plants from the tank. The BN juvies have all been caught and are in holding containers, i way under estimated how many were in there lol....there is around 40-50 lol. I have come to the conclusion i desperately need the new 5ft to use as a growout, its a pain to have to keep pulling everything out of the 4ft to catch them!!

Tank is still just fish and water......Tonight when i get home from work i'll do a 90%WC and a deep PFS clean, then i can add some dino dung balls into the back area and i will replant (including some new plants), and hopefully the goldies wont take a liking to the newcomers lol

The BN issue - I have rigged up a gutter guard cage to hold them until i can get the 5ft here.....being as the goldie tank is live planted now, the plants will get unhappy with me having to rip them out all the time for catching duty.

So the goldie tank will be a bit unattractive with the cage in there, but it serves a purpose, and is not a permanent thing

LOL Came home from work to all the BN back in the tank.....Houdini's!!

So added some extra (lots) zipties, hopefully when i get up tomrrow they are all still where they are now meant to be lol

Tank wont be rescaped until tomorrow now
