35L Rescaped Ready For My Badis (Again Inspired By Wills)

I would go for 6 of the Galaxy Rasboras with 5 Badis in the tank.

I would try and crush the flake really fine or even use fry food while they are really small. Micro pellets from Hikari could work maybe?

But yeah have to admit feeding is something else I have had to adapt to as I didnt expect just how tiny they are.

Those are the micro wafers I have but they were still far to big for them. Crushing them between 2 t spoons worked really well. Just need to remember to turn of the filter as to give them chance to see it. May get some bbs for them 2moro as a little treat.
I think as well to save time I may just crush up a dozen or 2 algea wafers with a morter and pestle and store in a separate tub. Should last ages (save cursing up the micro wafers every day) a little pinch every other day should keep every one happy.

5 eh... Is that 2 males and three females?

I'd love one of you guys buying these Black Tiger Badis to get two males and four females... Although I suspect that at least a 2-foot tank would be needed to give the blokes some room. With some territory space, it would be great to see these colorful fish displaying to each other and the females!

Goat - I would reccomend against 2 males in a tank this size - mine is certainly quite spritely actually attacked the syphon tonight!!! And then the inlet pipe for the pump he actually swap against a 550 lph current to attack the pipe lol. He displays to the females really well but the beauty of these fish is when you just stop and really focus your eyes on them and you see all the blue edges to the fins and the red stripes then the black spots around the face. Thats really how you appreciate these

But yeah just 1 male in a small tank - the females are actually really attractive and should by no means be considered a second notch fish. Mine are certainly on a par with male cherry barbs for their vibrancy at times.

i hadnt even thought about gettin 2males (would no doubt end in disaster). My plan is 1m and 4 may be 5 females as i would really like to try and breed them. Still going to be a week or 2 tho before i put in a order. Want to get the tank and tank m8s just right 1st. few plants attached to the wood are in order.(hopfully get those tomoro)

Well I went to this new aquatics (shirly aquatics) and omg best place I have every been. Loads of fish such nice looking tanks as well plus loads of plants.
I bought 1 gold nuget plectrum for my main tank ( he is a real beaut) 4 Chery shrimp with moss and floating lettuce for free and a few bits of java fern for my badis tank and some new swords for the main tank. So so happy no sp badis tho unfortually.
Would recommend the shop 2 any one, really attentive and helpful staf.

What a difference a few plants make. Before i really was happy with the tank, but now i love it. you lot can be the judges

Oh wow that looks great! I would get some anubias to put on the top of that branch going to the surface to make it look more natural - I find sawn off bit wood to look a bit un natural and can in a way spoil a scape. Or moss would look good if you could attach it in some way.

Just noticed you upgraded to a U1 as well which is a really good choice as the arc 35 filter is rubbish! Im on the look out for a small alternative and found the tiny Resun external filter which I plan to get in the future more for neatness in the tank and also less obtrusion in the tank as well. They are about £20 inc delivery off ebay could be an idea for this tank?

I upgraded it this week as it was rubbish. It kept stopping. so i have cut it up and it used as a mini power head in my main filter to push Co2 every ware. I do love the u1 but in the future would look for a mini external.
Cheers for the compliments about the tank i am so chuffed with it. going to get a few more shrimp at the weekend and hopefully some more free moss to cover the stump.
The fish and shrimp are all loving the new plants. plenty of things for them to swim around and hide under etc... (I wonder what goes thuw the little fishes heads)
Just need one more main thing now (the Badis)

no ware seems to have it been to quite a few different new shops this week and most have had little bits in with shrimp buts that about it. got a wee bit more today free with the new cherys. Fingers crossed i am going to another new shop 2moro they have some. wouldnt mind one of 2 more jarva fern in there near the filter as well. (again we will have to see what 2moro holds)

I am chuffed to bits with them and the way the hole tank has turned out. I think maybe a wee bit more moss and a few more pheonixs then the tank will be dun just sit back and admire it now.
Hopfully with the numbers of females to the 1 male they should and hopefully will breed would be nice if the shrimp do 2

Oh I have no doubts your shrimp will breed!! My red cherry shrimps have bred like rabbits, so much so that I`m giving some away to make room
I`m not sure yet but I may get rid of all the red cherry shrimps and have just the Crystal Red Shrimps with the Badis instead, they are apparently a hell of a lot slower to breed...if at all

I am so, so, so tempted to try and swap things around so that I can get some of the Scarlets but I think I`ll be pushing things way too much if I do I may just have to leave it for now and hope I can get some later on
