okay not much has changed over the last few days i have a decision to over dose ferts now adding 50ml from my 25ml, according to the bottle i was under dosing a bit and over dosing wont hurt and wont in cure algae but under will so to eliminate this and to make things easier for me and the people looking after my tank when i am away i shall be putting in 50ml.
But i also want to get a few more plants maybe some red ish plants at the back i have these two in mind,
Echinodorus hormanii - red
Alternanthera sessilis
They both require high light that i don't quite have yet but will have soon, so i think the red will add more colour to my tank so much green in there at the moment even with my red crypts
I thought I will make a list of all the proper names of plants i have in my tank at the moment will help me and you in the future maybe,
Cryptocoryne beckettii
Cryptocoryne Nevellii
Anubias Nana
Echinodorus Rose
Echinodorus Uruguayensis
Hygrophila Guanensis
Eleocharis SP Mini (DHG)
Vesicularia Ferriei (Weeping Moss)
Twisted Vallisneria
So well, plant update is needed i think.
My grass i think is growing in height more are poking through the plastic but both my crypto's, nothing seems to stop them they are booming, nearly a new leaf every day few weeks and they will look lovely.
Hygrophila is growing slowly but nicely don't know how this plant grows seems to be like a tree, a single stem and it grows from the top, be interesting see how this one develops new leafs are very lush bright green compared to the older more darker green leafs.
Echinodorus rose (amazon Swords) well after cutting the leafs off them i think i may have killed it off
we shall see i think i shall give it 2 weeks to a month if no leafs grow il unearth the roots and see if they are rotting or growing.
Anubias have fully melted now not a leaf in site but the rhizome is still green and looking good, fingers crossed it will sprout new leafs in the next week or two.
Weeping moss altho i lost quite a bit its going okay no new growth yet and it still hast stuck to the wood, i was told give it a few weeks maybe a month for it to take hold.
Echinodorus Uruguayensis is growing weirdly TBH, the new leafs are red and look like melted so I'm confused by this plant will give it time see how it turns out.
if anyone wants to know how and what i do, as soon as i see a leaf now that has any sign of algae, or holes and cuts in it i cut it off strait away as close to the sand as i can, unless it is the last leaf on the plant then wait for a new leaf to start developing, other than that i do nothing haha
not much maintenance at the moment, no need for trimming, no uprooted plants this morning which was good, and even less plant on my powerhead's a few scruds but thats normal.
