330L Tank Journal

if you get rid of the clown loache that would open up alot of space. but you wouldnt have too until the clown loaches are about 6 inches

I'd get a huge school of something like Cardinals, Celestial Pearl Danios, Harlequins or Embers mate, they keep in a group and really compliment a scape.

cool, thank you, would these fish be compatible with my current fish, i wont get rid of my loaches, but will be getting a bigger tank in the next few years when i get my own place

they are 3 angels, 5 toerpedo barbs, 6 loachs 2 bn pleco, and 8 laser cory's i was thinking og getting some sterbia corrys to maybe 6 or 8 more :)

idealy any smallish fish that swim mid ish level that will be active :) i would like tbh

okay i am thinking of these two fish i would like to add unsure on how many tho,

Rasboras - Harlequin x10?

Blue Gourami x3 to 5?

Sterbia Cory x6 to 8?

what you think?

Angels might eat small fish when adults btw mate.

Hmm okay :) il pop down to the fish shop and have a look in a few weeks time I am also thinking off re scapeing the tank making a proper cave on the left hand side of the tank with sand on top and maybe some grass , some miss
Ontop of the wood as I may give a go, stick all my valid along the back wall and the amazon swords on the right side, with the other plants dotted around :)

Not sure how I'm gona make this cave may try using my current rocks but no sure what's good hard stuff for a cave?

hmm okay i have got my design head on :) sadly i wont be using the slate but im gona give this ago if it dosnt work il use the slate, but when i get my bigger tank in a few years down the line when i have my own place i shall reuse all this stuff anyway :) so, here are a few pics i have made :) let me know what you think,

this design goes back to when i first started out at this hobby and the image i had in my mind, this cave i will be making out of plastic :), i will cover in sand :) firstly probably with aqua sealant to make it stick on the side but the rest just loose, to make it look hidden, may put grass on top i don't know yet, i shall see how it will look, may look completely rubbish but who knows :) il start a new post for the cave build it self but will post in here for final results :)

am planning on keeping the other slates but not use them all, but will keep the wood in the same place just raised up on the left slightly :) let me know what you all think

the cave looks good but would you want the angelfish to get under there too? because they might not fit when older.
but i am really jealous of your tank, it has turned out amazing

no i do not want the angel fish to get under there to be honest, the angel fish are trying to get under my current cave now and then but haft to swim sideways so if i can prevent them getting in that would be best :) bought all the parts to make this monster thing now will crack on with it today or tomorrow, not sure how i'm gona get the sand to stick on the outside may use some silicon and glue a layer of sand on and then just use loose sand on top of that, wish i could project the image in my head to the world haha :)

you could try planting some plants in front with open spaces big enough for other fish, but not the angels.
or (this may sound cruel) you could put a clear plastic piece with holes big enough for the fish you want to go in and eventually after a few bumps (thats what i think might be cruel :/) they would learn were the holes are, and you could see them, also the angels couldn't go in

hmm ye i know what you mean, you have given me an idea though growing my grass in front of the cave, so it looks like the cave is rising up above it, hmmm.

the fish kinda do that now with some places :) but no offence to them, they don't learn, im trying to keep my tank as realistic as i can, so i need to try and hide all the plastic and stuff, i hate the stuff,

when i had the blue tubes for my air stones good i hated them did my best to dig them in but my fish just dug them up again dam fish,
