Thanks RCA but I managed to see it by searching as I said yesterday. Don't know if it's cos it's was on the mobile version but I saw it eventually so all's well.
Yeah, just thought if you tried the link I posted whether it was better as that goes straight to the Desktop version ;)

It worked for me and he looks very content.

Try this Mamashack.
Thanks RCA, I guess he will just be a tail biter

In terms of his antics, I put some other small fish in with my boy, as well as a couple of Amano Shrimp, they kept him amused enough that he did not return to biting his tail.  There are pictures of him in another post, let me know if you need me to link to them - anyone?  My tail-biter is now in a larger tank as I have swapped him with another boy who needs his tail repairing!  Oh, the love and joy of Bettas - now you all know why I am tending to lean towards Plakats as my favourites, none of these issues the other boys seem to have.

Yes, not sure ill get another veiltail again.

He is proper psycho with other fish, we found that out in the fish store when I wanted to take a photo of him and some fish swam into his chamber :/

Plus with the bogwood in there I'd hate to think I would squish something when replacing it after cleaning, it's tricky enough with just him.

I will persevere with taking brightly coloured toys from the children and placing them around the tank to give him something to look at. Funny I never see the little blighter doing it!

So Vader has a new game he likes to play, I don't particularly like it though, it's called "lets get sucked up the siphon"

Yup, I was given Vader a nice water change before leaving for a few days when he swims up it! I quickly pinched the tube to stop the flow of water and he shoots back down and carries on as if nothing happened - meanwhile I have a huge adrenalin rush going on! Then he tries to repeatedly do it again :/

Strange fish.

On to do Luthers now, hope he doesn't follow suit!

My barbs do this lol crazy little fish lol

The tank looks fabulous !!!! I wish my local maiden head aquatics and pieces of wood that good.

Love it! Very similar to my 28L Betta tank :)
Did you build a lid for the filter compartment and top of tank to avoid evaporation? I have a similar model for my RCS and i had to make a lid this weekend as it was just evaporating way too much.

Thanks folks!

DRB - you need to share pics now :D

Tbh I don't find the evaporation too bad? I have two pieces of glass for the lid, the one with the corner cut off, I place so it's over the leads from the heater and powerhead. I change the water on a weekly basis, it's maybe gone down 0.5cm??

Guess what folks...........

I've GOT the 40 version of this now :hey:

I shall do another thread for it, it's for Luther. - he is currently in a 2foot long 54 litre with 6 black neon tetra - I know the neons will prob prefer the length, but I much prefer the look of this tank. Plus when I have the space, they can go into my 180 litre :good:

Ok, I have done a re-scape for Vader, I have used that lovely piece of bogwood in the nano 40 as it was getting awkward to keep taking out to clean and put back in place being mindful firstly of Vader and secondly of squishing plants.

I will try to upload pics but my phone is full and my camera battery has run out. I could try with the iPad but won't be great quality.

I hope you all will like :)

Ok, so here is Mr. Naughty himself:

I'd like to point out that we have had no tail biting for a long time - fins crossed :D

.........and here is the tank revamp:
