ok today went better than the previous few days but still things are fine

the duncan coral is now growing a fourth head with the previous one now a decent size, thought for the past few days it refused to open fully which worried me even thought my stats are literally

0 ammo, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate, .025 SG, 8.6 pH, 8 KH, 520+ calcium, and 0 phosphate

but now things are better and im putting it down to the fact i left the main lights on for two days straight studying for AP exams (which went awseome btw :D )

mom offered me 20$ to wash my dog and i did and got 15$ which is going directly to savings

convinced my dad to get a fighting conch snail and some peppermint shrimp next time we visit the store and maybe a 2 more turbo snails lol

i fragged the yellow polyps so i would be able to place it on the sand without smothering anything, those are doing great in the frag tank, feeding them every other day so they are happy.

the fish are fine, firefish is doing great, so much more active, and very jumpy, which worries me only a little, also found out my female bangaii has blue irises (the sudden light change when i turn on the lights lets me see)

so what happens next is i deal with the last 5 school things on my plate (spanish final, physics final, history paper, english project/test, calculus final/project) find someone to water all my plants when im gone, go to france and watch the french open (uber excited!!!!), come back and buy me a male leopard wrasse (i might refer to themas mango wrasses because thats what they remind me of)

i cant believe im going to be a senior next year, i still act like a 10 year old D:

Good for you, study now and relax later :good:

lol i wont be doing much relaxing ive got 6 AP classes next year which i have to do summer homework for, and one or two classes im taking over the summer that i need to take because of the move or else i wont be able to graduate  imjust happy ill be exempted from finals next year haha

also forgot to mention that i won the award for top junior science student, my teacher nominated me for stuff like being really into the material and knowing a whole lot about it, and imputting it up to the fact that i could relate almost allof the material to fishkeeping

thanks! im also doing a science project and im trying to base it around coral reefs, my one problem is that i have no idea which idea i want to pick

anyways, since i only had one final today aswell as a need to visit the orthodontist, im home early, only to find that my mom accidentally the fish tank, again ;though techniqually i accidentally it first by relying on her to flip the lights at night, leaving the sump off and the main on, and this morning she just only turned the main off without turning the sump on.

needless to say the need for a timer has risin to the top of my to-do list

also, i was thinking about buying a tree coral before i left for france, since its only 10$, opinions?? im leavng it in the 20 over the break so it gets better flow/closer to lights

well, someone bought the tree coral *sigh*

i left with a fighting conch so not a total loss, unfortunatley his name is gary because my mom wanted to name it and my brother said it had the eyes :/

also noticed that they had some sea hares in, they dont look anything like the pictures lol they look like mutated moving blobs of brown.

so yeah, also, due to my displeasure, im entrusting the top-off and feeding of the fish to an eleven year-old :( good thing his mom will be there

instructions will probably be something along the lines of:

1. dont touch anything
2. pour ONLY the DISTILLED jugs of water into the BOTTOM tank on the FAR RIGHT ONLY IF the waterline in the FAR RIGHT chamber of the BOTTOM tank is UNDER the BLACK LINE
3. only use the jugs of water, DO NOT refill the jugs and do not pour water from anything other than the jugs provided
4. dont touch anything
5. feed ONLY 1 cube of brineshrimp every TUESDAY and SATURDAY, except saturday the 30th
6. ONLY 1
7. DONT TAP THE GLASS, the firefish is abit jumpy so tapping the glass could very well send it to the floor
8. dont touch ANYTHING
9. dont put your hands in the tank, the clownfish are evil and like to eat fingers, not joking

that last one's fake btw

I hope my clowns aren't viscous they look so cute and friendly at the moment.

Im doing WC tomorrow so you'll see in the news tomorrow "Boy gets attacked and seriously injured by baby clown fish".

alrighty then im back from the trip and thank goodness nothing has died
in fact the duncan got humongous* over the 12 days

however so did the aiptasia anemones since aptaisiaX acheived the exact opposite of what its supposed to do >:[

tomorrow after we make the yard look good we test the water, go to the store and hopefully if things are ok order the wrasse and get some shrimp to deal with the anemones (and i just remembered that the shrimp dont eat big aips...derp)

ok, i went to the lfs store and everything was perfect water wise, the only bad things that happened is that a snail got flipped over and the aips are larger, i would like to not use the chemicals but if i have to i will.

also ordered a pair of african/blue star leopard wrasses :D they should be in in about a week or two, giving me time to stock up on garlic and all sorts of meaty live goodies.

also today im going to go back and pick up a royal gramma...more snails and maybe a small emerald crab for algae

stock:

clown pair (ocilleris)
firefish
bangaii cardinal pair (only one so far)
gold rim tang
longnose hawkfish
mandarin goby
canary blenny
flame angel
leopard wrasse pair
royal gramma

if you want something for alage, mexican turbo snails they just destroy algae

the solution presented itself in a way i most certainly did not want

my dad (against my advice) bought a cute little kole tang D:

im kinda freaking out right now in the omg-what-am-i-gonna-do way

i mean i think ill be ok its just that i wasnt really ready for a tang since they get ich if the wallpaper isnt how they like it

but like i saw the guy feed it and it ate everything really fast and it didnt look sick and it looked healthy and i bought the food it was eating so if i have all the luck in the world i should be OK.

also got the royal gramma, cute little guy :3, if only he would stop pretending to be dead and give me a mimi-heart attack.

on a lighter note i got straight As and my transricpt average is an A as well. :yahoo:
