would be better to get a smaller piece of synthetic wood & cut it to shape & plug the hole cut it on a taper & drive it into the hole till its tight then cut it or sand it off flush

some wood fillers use water to soften them if they go a bit hard in the tub i would be very wary on using wood filler under water it could easily break up slowly under there

I lost 5 platys this week and i put it down to the 25% water change & the difference in the temprature change though it never bothered them before with a 15% water...
