Yesterday during weekly 20% water change i put a new plastic plant in the tank 1 of those long ones thats anchored to the bottom and goes up & along the surface to provide some extra cover as i only had small plants in the tank.
I rearranged a few things as i sometimes do as it doesent bother the fish,in fact the gouramis come to my arm to see what i"m doing, last night & all of this morning 1 of the tetras has started going up & down the glass at 1 end of the tank, the tank ends inside are mirrored so i thought it was the reflectoin of the fish chasing itself its never done it before,i put a plant in the way of the glass but it made no difference is it usual behaviour for a tetra or have i stressed it out the other fish are all ok.Thx for advice
35 gallon tank
2 tetras
2 3 spot gouramis
3 platys
1 apollo shark
1 sucking loach

I do not know much about tetra's but I have guppies, mollies and platies and they all do it. Up and down, up and down. When I first got them and they did it really quickly I thought there may be something wrong, but I'm now so used to it that i realish that it is part of their normal behaviour. It's as if they are racing their reflection. :D lol

My buenes aries always does that, I think he gets excited in thinking he has a friend that is playing with him. he plays with the bubbles as well when he was in the larger tank. Maybe mine is a strange one as well, but he will try to play with anything.
