Can I use a used fifty five gallon tank for shell dwellers? Would I be able to use play sand and hermit crab and escargot shells? Would I be able to put labs or frontosa cichlids in there too? I was planning on putting some multies in there.

when you put them in your aquarium make sure the formation is stable. and even if a fish is stuck never pull out a rock. most fish can get themselves out, that's how i lost my elephant nose. :( :alien: :grr: :rofl: just kidding :-(

The most expensive fish that I have ever seen is a $45 discus. I realize that the fish here are relitively cheap but you can buy salmon for $12 a pound and still be able to eat it. Even though my elephant nose died on the 3rd of July, you still couldn't eat him or anything.

Looks like your 29 is overstocked big time. The inch per rule never follows for cichlids. You should move some of your fish to the 70.

You should be fine adding a pair of Kribs. Make sure you have some kind of cave/tunnel structure. I used pvc pipes. If you don't want any real plants tore up in your tank I would get some Seaweed Selects. My kribs gobble a 1x3 in piece in about 5 minutes. They also love Sally's Frozen...

Probably an iridescent shark to me. Look at my topic in the catfish cradle called Iridescent Sharks stingers or something like that. They get spazy at times and get really big. I wouldn't put one in a community aquarium.

you could feed the crabs by using pvc pipes down to the habitat, seeling the water off from the pipes then the food( or the new crab could just be dropped down into the habitat.
