    fish spit yesterday

Hi they might have survived. If youve got a lot of rockwork in the tank with plenty of hiding spaces they have a good chance. Mine bred a while back and i thought id lost all the fry but a few weeks later two popped out of nowhere. Even tho i searched the tank for them when the mother spat. They...

    too much oxygen?

Also plants dont consume oxygen. They produce it through photosynthesis, taking in carbon dioxide to do this. So it is in fact helping your oxygen levels by having the plants.

    New 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank

In reference to your water line. With my brothers 55 gallon tank we ran a strip of black sticky back plastic round the top of the tank, so we could bring the water level up so we couldn't see it but still away from the braces. Hardly notice it. Worth a try.

    Where to buy ammonia

I don't think it can kill them. but too much ammonia will severly slow down the growth of the bacteria that breaks down the nitrite to nitrate. hence slowing down your cycle. i managed to get hold of some 30% concentration ammonia for my 65 gallon and it was done in two and a half weeks...

    L caeruleus ( mixed )

It comes down to the space they need. Labidos grow to around 4-5 inches. The volume needed to dilute there waste. I mean its not 20 gallons per fish. But it is a recommended size to keep them in.

    L caeruleus ( mixed )

Mine are in a tank with other african cichlids all of similar size. They haven't killed anything in my tank cos all the others i have are the more aggresive and chase them away lol. If they do attack it is likely to be through territory and they would attack anything in the tank. When my...

    Testing ammonia in fishless cycling?

Thanks a lot guys. This really helps a lot. I think my ammonia was too weak cos i had to add the whole bottle just to get a reading of 5ppm! It was diluted down from a lab. Think ill have to get me a stronger solution.
