Dont rely on the algae eaters keeping the tank clean.It wont happen-they will eat algae but not an amount significant to catering for your tank cleaning needs! They are good for picking algae off live plants though,I find.

Is that 26 UK gallon or US? Either way-they will out grow your tank eventually or...they will not grow to their capacity.I got the same prob-got 2 of them which I know eventually will have to be re-housed.

I get them also.Think they are water fleas. They are harmless.Cut down on feeding for a few days and the fish will get them.I presume they come with weeds bought from LFS.

Do what I do..I have white sand in my puffer tank...forever covered in algae or bloodworm skins... Just hoover up all the crap,whatever sand gets sucked up also just swish the water around and clean it-switch off your filter and pour the sand back in.

Depends on many factors such as tank size,plants,which fish and how many,water temp. I have once had to consider this also when I was on pre-pay electricity.There is no definitive answer but-in a correctly stocked tank without overally sensitive fish you should be alright for up to 24hrs before...

I think you will find that once DPs "discover" a food they will love it forever-it's just the initial introducing it to them thats the pain! If you want to see some real DP carnage try some live daphnia or brine shrimp and watch those bellies grow! Good luck!

My dwarf puffers eat frozen bloodworm.At first I had to wean them onto it by using live bloodworm.They will not go for frozen brine shrimp however yet love live ones. Has your DP got a full or sunken belly?Small ramshorn snails are good for puffers but they should not be larger than the DP's...
