I Have My First Mbu!

People come on to ask for advice, which is exactly what members are doing.
It is always best to research a fish before you buy it, that way if it does get too big then you haven't got the hassle of taking it back or getting a bigger tank.
Don't jump on members for trying to help out and don't assume they all own a little goldfish.
If you are unhappy with this forum then join another one. :/

Best thing to do is try and be polite as possible.
But at the end of the day the member didn't do there research and now there in a mess.
But we all make mistakes that's why I always say research fish first.

I get fed up with some self righteous types on here who sem to be waiting just to pounce on anybody who does not fulfill a given criteria.

i guess your approach could be a little better.... or am i the only person sensing a little irony in your post.

Don't turn it into a another flaming thread please.
Can't take anymore.

I apologise-I was adding the angst I acheived from reading another post but,I stand by my assertions. There does seem around here to be an abundance of people who appear to be "just waiting" for somebody to fail in any given criteria.

Yes the tank is too small for the puffer but...it will do for now.

I do agree, especially in the UK puffers get mis-sold but,do you espect every poster to post their future plans and tankage regarding any fish commented on?
There are some people on here who would regard a 100UKGal tank being over-stocked with 2 tetras. All I see is a few people trying to score points by criticising the tank size of anyone who dare post.

I'm gonna put my neck out here...It seems to be an American thing.

Jeez, it seems Brits like you are ALWAYS trying to be like us Americans.

A pic would be nice never seen one.

No worries.. i understand your frustrations, but there are far more helpful people on this site than there are unhelpful people, and the original question did ask..

If i was to buy a 5ft tank would this be suitable for him when fully grown?

so i guess thats why the answer was the way it was.

Some people learn a rule like the inch per gallon rule and then start adding up everyones fish stock..After a while it becomes a little easier for people to gauge it for themselves, taking into consideration, filtration visual space etc.. I understand how it can be frustrating sometimes, just give people a bit more of a chance, as you would hope people would you as a newbie here. ;-) EDIT - (FROM A POSTING POINT OF VIEW ;-) )

Cheers
