I was hooking the filter back up in my blue lobster's tank, it wasn't on for a day or so because I was a bit stressed over it. It messed up somehow & pumped 7 gallons of water on my floor :( Anyway, I noticed these little whitish specks swimming up at the surface of the water. I tried to get a picture of them, but theyre just too tiny. To me, they look exactly like baby sea monkeys, the way they swim too.

What could they be? This is my first crayfish so I want to make sure theyre nothing dangerous.

Thanks for any help!

There are numerous harmless little critters which live in fish tanks which take advantage of tiny scraps of uneaten food and algae and things, however most of these critters are eaten by fish living in the tank. I think its likely that these are just harmless little critters which have grown in abundance in the tank because there are no fish to eat them- i would advise just cleaning the substrate of the tank on a more regular or thorough basic to help reduce their numbers :good: .

I get them also.Think they are water fleas.

They are harmless.Cut down on feeding for a few days and the fish will get them.I presume they come with weeds bought from LFS.

Springtails i bet. I had them when i had floating plants. I took put the plant and the Harlequins had a feast. They are harmless.
