Gonna Have My First Betta :d

Bettas love bloodworms, you can also feed them pellets. Most people would suggest keeping bettas buy themselves, if you have a large enough tank you can keep them with a small shoal of corys. I have keep a betta with guppies before, but this is a little risky. The betta may attack the guppies...

    Predator For Small Tank

Thanks for the replies, an african butterfly fish would look great, I just need to see if my lfs will have them any time soon. But Im still open for suggestions, it will still be a while before I start to stock the tank.

    Predator For Small Tank

I have a 29 gal tank which I am currently cycling. I was wondering if there were any predatory fish I would be able to put in it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Also I forgot to mention, I live in the US, so no snakeheads :/

    Algae Infestation

Clean out the filter, do frequent water changes, and decrease the lighting. As said before it should clear up in a week or two, decreasing the lighting will help A LOT.

    Angel Tankmates

I have a 29 gal, I was planning on eventually getting a pair of angels and maybe 6-8 albino corys. I was wondering what would be a good dither fish for the angels? Thanks.

New And I Have Some Questionssssss Please

There are a lot of things wrong with those tanks, in the 20g 6 goldfish is WAY too much for that, goldfish are extremely messy you should really only have one MAYBE two goldfish in a 20g. Also if it is a common pleco the min tank size would be a 55 preferably something much bigger. Also dragon...

    Stocking A 29 Gal Tank

I have a 29 gal tank, currently I have 10 neon tetras in it. In a few weeks I plan on getting a few more fish. I can't decide on what I want to add to the tank. Ive been debating on moving the neons out and getting a pair of angels and possibly an african leaf fish (african bushfish). Or maybe a...

    Fish Conditioner Confusion

Stick with API stress coat, as said before products that claim to "remove" ammonia typically do not work too well or are harmful to your tank.

    Best Algae Eater For Sand?

If it is a smaller tank I would suggest getting a group of otos (3-5), although they do better in a planted tank. If it is a larger tank I would suggest getting a rubbernose or bristlenose pleco.

Angelfish Ideas What To Add Its A 55Gallon

You could add in a peacock spiny eel, one of those will add some movement to the bottom of the tank. However Im not sure if it would eat the corys or not. But yes a kuhli loach or two would make nice tankmates.

Trying To Decide What I Can Put In My Tank With My Jack Dempsey

You should probably upgrade to at least a 55 gal, then you could add something like a pictus catfish or another large bottom dweller. If you got a 75 gal or larger you could add in another jd or an oscar.

Oh What To Do With This Tank?

You could go with tetras, small barbs ie. tiger barbs, or live-bearers. Those are all suitable for a 10 gal.

Jumpin' Into The Fish World Finally!

Everything in the wal-mart starter kit should be OK, except for the filter, it will most likely be a cheap filter that will not work so well in the long run. I would advise getting a bio-wheel filter, one for your size tank will cost around $30 at your lfs. Also have you picked up gravel or any...

Brown-Green Sludge In Tank And Filter

So I did a routine 30% water change on my 10 gallon planted tank today. I clean in about 2x a week on average, and I clean out the filter media about once a month. So I went to clean it today and it was clogged with brown-green sludge. I figure its either algae, since that tank did have an algae...

    Sengal Bichir Isnt Eating

I've had a sengal bichir for about a week, its in a 55 gal tank with a small (4-5") Oscar and a 6-7" inch common plec. The bichir is about 3" long, it spends most of the time in a cave thats in the corner of the tank, in fact it came out of its cave for the first time since I got it a few hours...

    White Crusty Build Up

Yeah, I have a little of that on my tank lids, I live in an area with hard water. Its lime buildup, I have not found a completely effective way of removing it. Warm water and a towel will get most of it off.

    Bacteria Supplement

Ive heard from some people that the bacteria supplement they sell doesnt really do anything. Am I just wasting money in adding bacteria supplement to an immature tank after every partial water change?

    Water Problem

Alright thanks everyone for the advice. Yes, I am doing fish-in cycling, this is my third tank and my first two began cycling much sooner and the nitrate and nitrite levels were never anywhere near as high as in this tank. I guess Ill starting doing daily water changes, I did about a 60% water...

    Water Problem

About 2 months ago I started a 10 gal tank, this is my third tank, and the only one I have had any problems with. Im not a novice but Im not really an expert either. I do have a question though, the nitrate and nitrite are extremely high, currently I only have a single tiger barb in the tank, I...

    Oscar Tank Mates?

Good tank mates for oscars are other new world Cichlids, plecos, bichirs, and sometime black knife fish. It depends on how aggressive the oscar is, it differs from specimen to specimen. I have an oscar, jack dempsey, sengal bichir, and green terror together, they get along fine.
