hi,

i have a tropical tank with a Bette(siemese fighter)1 angelfish and 3 mollies, with sand instead of gravel

i havent came across any algae etc yet but lookig to see what would be the best to get with sand instead of gravel?

would a shrimp be better and be ok with the rest of the fish?

thanks

I have an otto, and he is doing really good!

I don't think the substrate matters, as algae fish will seek algae to eat and other stuff similar, not swift around the substrate.

Depending on what kind of shrimp they were they more then likely would get eating. What's the size of your tank?

Hi,

couple of questions for you.

How long has the tank been running?
How long have them fish been in there together?
What size is the tank?

A betta and an angel is a bad mix, as they mature I'd prepare yourself for possible trouble. Angels will normally rip a bettas tail to shreds.

We need to know the tank size before we can recommend any fish

Andy

the tak has been running in all, around 2-3 months

the fish have been together for 2 weeks or so, all getting on perfectly fine,
i'll gat back to you on the size of the tank as cant remember off the top of my head

As said a couple times before we need to know the size of your tank before we can recommend any type of fish

If it is a smaller tank I would suggest getting a group of otos (3-5), although they do better in a planted tank. If it is a larger tank I would suggest getting a rubbernose or bristlenose pleco.

its 25Ltr ish

far too small for your angelfish mate, dunno about the betta
sorry

as for the sand Q i have a 25ltr fry tank and use a single albino cory, it keeps the sand turned over and clean, although i believe they are meant to be kept in groups

Too small dude. Your angel will defiantly turn on any other fish for territory later on. I say get rid of angel, and you could add 2-3 Ottos. Ottos are good for small tanks and a large group is fun to watch when put in a big tank overun with the green stuff.

the angel is gone so just got the fighter and the Mollies
and algae appearing on the sand so need something for the tank quick
