It's probably just due to some stress. Just make sure there's nothing to stress him over the next 2 weeks and he'll probably go back to normal. Are you able to turn down the lights?
Just sent you a mail.
The grass was grown when it was a tropical tank. Just recently given my tropicals away and moved my goldfish into this tank. Even though I've removed the heater the temperature has still remained at around 24 degrees. Not sure how the grass will cope when Winter comes...
Looks like it's a Badge awarded for life then.
I think my goldfish looks a bit sad in the above photo's. Will have to take some more when he's feeling happier.
Hi, thanks for the replies.
The fish stuck on the glass is some type of plec. Not sure of the type, it's just over an inch long and I've had him for about 3 years.
Would you say my goldfish for Pom Pon's?
1 of my 2 baby goldfish has finally started to change to Gold colour, Had him for over 6 months. Do people think the black markings will stay black?
The photo above shows him, you can see his younger brother in the background
Thanks for the replies. The powerhead seems fine when I take it out of the filter and just pop it in the aquarium. Seems as powerful as it ever was.
I've also taken out all the filter material and cleaned or replaced it. So not sure why the output is so low now.
Hi All
Does anyone know if it's safe to remove the built in filter of Juwel tanks while the tank is still full of water and fish?
My filter seems to be on it's last legs but I do have a spare internal filter to replace it. I want to put it where the current built-in one is.
What's the best...
Hi
I've a Clown Loach, bought over a year ago but before I knew these need a tank of at least 400 litres.
If you have a tank bigger then this and already have some Clown Loaches for it to live with, I can deliver mine free as long as you don't live too far from Bolton, Lancs.
Thanks
Mike
Never used it but no reason to think it won't work.
Why do you want to use Double dosage?
Usually it's normal to Half the dosage when you have loaches.
Just remember to soak it in a bucket for awhile and only use it once your happy with the brownness. It may not be harmful to the fish, but you may not like the look of it.
There's no limescale in the kettle, also water in this area doesn't suffer from limescale. Any other ideas?
Thanks for the info on the Brita filter, I'll remove the filter before boiling water for the tanks.
At least I know it does do something and they are worth investing in for drinking water.
Hi All
I've had problems when I've added boiling water to cold water before doing a water change. I've seen little white dots float on top of the water, which only appear after adding the boiling water. So I assume it's something metallic from the kettle. I had this problem before on a cheap...
I think they will be fine. The baby food probably has growth enhancing ingredients and extra nutrients etc. So nothing that isn't good for the adults to. Just probably more costly for you.
I would say Guppies and Endlers would be the good choices for your tank.
I would ask why is your temperature at 29 degrees? You should drop it to between 24 and 26 degrees. Fish will feel better and you'll save a few pennies in electric to.
Hi all
My swordtail fry have grown up and some of the males are now bickering.
Does anyone who can collect from Bolton, Lancs want a free male? They are red and have short swords.
I thought they only ate dying plants and not healthy ones.
Maybe if you feed them their own food, they will leave them alone.
Try blanched cucumber etc or algae wafers if no fish in your tank will beat them to it.
Is algae on them normal?
I've found some old shells from garden snails. If I wash them and add them to the tank will this help with the calcium problem?
Why is filter flow rates quoted and so important?
Isn't the most important thing how much area the filter media provides and hence how much bacteria you have in the filter?
If you only used the additive just before doing the water change, then the chlorine would help keep off any unwanted nasties. Altho if the drums are not lidded then it'll probably only last a day anyway.
Anyway I do the same as you for the sake of getting it up to room temp and to...
