Interesting i just did a search and found this Malawi crab mentions that they are messy and moves stones which could be dodgy causing all the stones to fall on them and fish quite interested in these now lol i think they would be better suited to my tank, but need to find out if my LFS...

Good point I actually was thinking of the other way around that the crayfish might go for the cichlids and plecs! there's plenty of caves and rocks in my setup being a malawi tank so maybe the crayfish could protect himself I tried a armoured shrimp once my LFS said it'll be fine -> lasted one...
