Ehiem 2126 filter

Hi,

I recently got a 2nd hand Ehiem 2126 (prof II thermal) with no manual, and started looking around the impeller,

The question I have is if I wanted to replace it in the future how does it come apart? I noticed several screws on the head part I'm hoping that I dont have to take the whole head apart. There does seem to be clips around it which don't seem to take off the impeller case.

Anyone have any ideas on how it comes apart?

I am guessing, now, but on the underside of the powerhead, don't you have a locking ring? It should turn to provide access to the impeller chamber. Go to the Eheim website ( www.eheim.com ) and click on the link to Tech Support, then spare parts list. Here they list the parts for the 2226 (which is the Professional II not Professional I) but I am guessing they are similar. If you click on the links here, you will get a parts diagram (showing how to access the impellor chamber)

Yep I think it explains I have to take the whole unit apart!
