Freshwater Crayfish And Malawi Cichlids

just a quick question can this work ? has anyone had any experience of trying this combination?

I also have pleco's in the tank (its a 4 1/2 ft tank)

its just an idea, but not sure if its a crazy idea yet!!! been searching but not found much info

I suspect its crazy but not 100%!!!

The problem is when the crayfish malts it an easy target without its shell but maybe it could work

Good point I actually was thinking of the other way around that the crayfish might go for the cichlids and plecs!

there's plenty of caves and rocks in my setup being a malawi tank so maybe the crayfish could protect himself

I tried a armoured shrimp once my LFS said it'll be fine -> lasted one night torn to shreds

as long as the cray fish are are 2"'s and bigger. i feed my chiclids with smaller crayfish. the love them

my only other consern is them attacking fish when there asleep. When i get my big tank im going to try a malawi crab

Interesting i just did a search and found this

mentions that they are messy and moves stones which could be dodgy causing all the stones to fall on them and fish

quite interested in these now lol i think they would be better suited to my tank, but need to find out if my LFS sells them or where to get them from
