Did a water change today, and to my horror our Zebra Pleco's back fin is down to the bone and his body around the fin has gone pink, not sure what to do. Not seen this before. It doesn't look like fungus or fin rot.

Little bit of backgound- we have moved home recently (a month ago) I have been checking the water for any spikes from moving-but has been okay. I wondering if its delayed stress?

This is also why I've not been on net for a while......... so glad we have broadband again.

Thanks in advance

maybe, if it was it would have been one of my larger pleco's king tiger pleco or bristle nose, there's not much more in there that would have a go..maybe the clown loaches ? but I feel that would be out of character, I was wondering if I could add anything to the water to help him, but not really sure what to add?
Melafix? Stress coat?

Or should I just leave it and see how he gets on?

the pink under the fin does it look like a patch of pink.

Firstly, what size of tank is this?
You have a nice selection of plecos though!
Secondly, zebras should be in a species tank, they seem to do better.
Also you might wanna post this in Catfish cradle where they might also be able to steer you in the right direction.
Did you use the water from the original tank when you moved, or did you completely add new water?
Just a couple of questions to help more with the zebra. Would hate to lose such an expensive and beautiful fish

Thanks for the advise Earthgirl.

tank info 4ft 50 gallon, 2 Ehiem canister filters, 1 power head

In answer to your questions, I used two very large water canisters from the LFS to transport the water over. in fact it took 2 of us to lift them!!!!!!!

I used the emergency section because the poor chaps ill, but will add it into the catfish cradle section.

I don't fully agree that Zebra's should be in their on species tank, but thats down to opinon, if there's enough space and caves they do fine admittley they do better having a least 2 of there kind (which is was I was going to add when I get the spare cash) as they can be shy if on own
