yes they r feeder goldfish being used while tank is cycling , they will become food for the p's once tank is ready

new 100 gallon cycling atm , will be home to piranha 4x nattereri and 2x cariba's still getting the decoration right , but i have a couple of weeks to get it right ,

ive taken the minnow but i cant catch the algae eater :((

would it not pay u to use a sump for the guppy breeding tanks to cut down on cost of heaters etc as 1 heater would heat the water in the sump which then get distributed to all the tanks ?? i am going to be doing smething similar , myself , as my LFS will buy the guppys from me , also check...

excellant , i was hoing it would be ok , what would i need to consider if i wanted it to run say 3 tanks ??

would this work provided the water return pipe was above the water level , if not what , problems would i have in the event of a power cut ,

2 of my guppys have dropped their fry , the first time they gave birth i got a total of about 20 , this time round its over 50 between them :wub:

i have recently added java moss to my guppy breeding tank , which has a UGF seems to be dopin gok atm although possibly 2 early 2 tell

changed it for new piccy

:D yes its got 3 ways in , i glued it altogether then allpied 2 coats of pond sealer , just to be safe :)) its in my guppy tank

i find my fish were a little wary @ first now there is always 1 or 2 in all the time :))

it is a work in progress im going to my lfs tommorow to get a new filter maybe going to get a small external 1 , would be able to hide it better in the tank ,

still working on it , but here it is anyway changed it for new piccy

start breeding them that will take up a load of time :))

has any1 else from uk used these lamps , if so was the extra cost worth it ?

i use it in my guppy brreding tank , they seem to like it especially when giving birth , they hide behind or in it ,

if thats the way u r thinking then maybe fishkeeping really isnt for u :no: , water changes on a weekly / bi weekly is a neccesary as is feeding , hmmmm :angry:

i use kent freshwater plant , i dosw 2 ml every other day and my plants have gone wild :D

i only have 18watts + reflector atm but i am adding another 18 watt @ the weekend , co0nsidering the amount of light i have atm i think it has done eally well :D

the nitrate reading u have is probably natural from the tap water anyway , 3 days is 2 early for ammonia reading to be high give a couple of days and u will see your ammonia levels increase , followed by nitrite as bacteria builds up , , 3 days it hasnt even begun , keep a close eye on the...

bigger water change @ this point would be a good idea 50% then do small daily water changes of around 10 % , monitor your ammonia levels closely until they read 0 ppm, your nitrates @ 40 % is also a lethal level the water changes will help with this , and u have far 2 many fish in the tank ...

do u lose many fish , with ammonia and nitrate levels as in your sig , how do your fish survive ??? the amount of fish in that little 29 gallon tank with v small water changes no wonder u have an ammonia problem u need to reduce the amount of fish for a start ,or u need to do much bigger...

same thing happened to me , got 4 on 1 of my guppys lat batches was expecting more , but sadly they must have been eaten :crazy:

without a test kit there is no way that u can even begin to tell what the problem is ahahah u added co2 and reflectors which will stimulate plant growth, making them use up the nutrients in the water faster , it sounds to me as if they have consumed all the main nutrients in the water...

as in my sig :)) but the tank im enjoying the most is my planted 10 gallon , my first attempt @ a planted tank im using gravel substrate , driftwood and slate as main bottom decorations ,lighting is 18 watt with reflector, and co2 injection, i have my own mix for the nitrate and pottasium...

i thought u had a planted tank if so buying something to use up the nitrates and phosphates will surely have an effect on the plant growth ? To reduce phosphate levels,(which the algae like) feed less (if possible) and increase water changes. Test the tap water as well to see if that isn't the...

as im led to believe although theres more 2 it , plants use nitrate and phosphates to grow if the plants have used all the nitrate in the water they will stop growing or slow right down leaving an abundance of phosphates which algae love , what r your nitrate levels ?? if they r non existent...
