i have used up until now aquarium silicone , but i was wondering if hot glue gun ,glue is safe ? i know it may not stick as well but i was only really going to use to glue gravel to the base of plastic plants etc

From some one who knows... er and I'm not that horse... but I asked him the same question a year ago.

The gun doesn't kill ya. Its the bullet.

Some glues are safe, some arnt.

If your not sure and you just have to do the project. let it dry then let it sit under water (prefferably agitated or moving water) for a few days.

I'm going to guess if you cant get a difinitive answer.. look for a glue that has something like this...

works on cups, kitchen sinks... ect... aka human safe.

Do Not attempt to use the gun under water. It is an electrical appliance and in suck a situation it would be the gun not the bullet that would kill you. You may think I'm jokeing but I'm not it hapens.

it doesnt work anyway the glue gets affected by the water and the stones come off :(

Just for those of you who might be interested, this is the question I sent, and the reply I received from 3M (the manufacturer of the majority of hot melt glue)

Message = Is hot melt glue safe to use in an aquarium. ie is it non toxic?
Many thanks
