Thanks for your reply..We actually bought the 3 male and two female as Auloncara gertrudae...but when looking up about breeding on websites we found that they looked nothing like gertrudae really so we then borrowed a giant book of African cichlids from our lfs and the closest we have found...

the top fin at the front has three very prominent spikes for a male the second spike is the longest and the females second spike is shorter than the third blue and gold rams more than likely WILL inter breed just got a few blues myself

Hi again... I use fry food to feed up my fry...it has fatty stuff in it to promote growth. I would say 2 months - 3 months old would be a good size treat without being too small. I have noticed people who breed gups and dont feed properly often have smallish fry. I feed mine fry food and also...

Hi there is actually a disease called velvet..it is also a fungal disease, do a search for velvet pics online....see if this is similar. But I must say it does sound like columnaris to me. Pimafix and Melafix will also help with velvet. Treatment should be ok with your other fish.

Hi again...another thing you might like to check is to see what ph corries prefer. 6.6 seems a little acidic to me. This can also cause fungas. I started looking into it for you so I could include correct info for you but I have a 3 year old daughter and its bath time. Good Luck!

And your happy about this???????????????????????? Nitrite is bad!!!!! You need to do some water changes and perhaps get some ammonia blocks or perhaps a good water conditioner such as prime, it helps take nitrite and ammonia etc out of water and makes the water safe for fish while nitrite is...

Enjoy! Fry were placed into portable tank while a new rock was being placed into fry tank. This allowed us to get a good pic and a fry count when placing them back into their tank.

Hi...I have recently treated my tank with a combination of pimafix and melafix together. I did two treatments for saddleback columnaris. I have not had any probs since. Yep definatly high nitrates would cause fungas infection and saddleback. Good luck...if you maintain regular water changes...

Hi to me they look like albino cory doras. I have a pair myself. Cory eggs if not fertile are white and a cream beigh colour if fertile. Thats what I read recently as I want to now breed not only gups and platys but also corries. Good luck.
