It was a Male Dwarf Gourami, about a week or so after it died, it curled up and it's previously white face was all brown (bruised) it lay in the corner and by the morning it was dead. :( Now I know not to get two gourami's as they may be...

    Murder Mystery

Been to the fish shop today and they recommended a anti internal bacteria treatment. They also said if the guppy's had been dying sometimes other fish attack it to kill it faster. Might look into getting two or more Zebras as I really like them and it would be a shame to get rid of them as they...

    Murder Mystery

So it could be the cory's? But they seem so peaceful! My yellow guppy used to be resting alot but the blue one used to swim around alot. I was thinking about getting rid of my Zebra's anyway because they always get the food and my gourami and cory's haven't had any since I got them. For the...

    Murder Mystery

Thanks to Davey Jones, how does your daughter solve the problem of feeding the other fish in the tank before the Zebras get it? None of my other fish seem to be getting much food. Thanks to The-Wolf, probably the best piece of advice so far.

    Gravel Vac

I have a five inch gravel vac and I only vacum the open parts to get the debris out of the gravel, this works well. My bottom feeders normally clean the awkward bits for me.

    Murder Mystery

Yea, I realise I thought it hadn't worked but afterwards I realised it had, sorry! Only the fin tail had gone and the first one was about a month before the others, then the last two died within 24hours of each other. All other fish have been checked throughly and have shown no signs of an illness.

    When U Clean Ur Tank

I turn off everything and leave it for ten minutes otherwise the heater could crack because it wouldn't be heating any water. Maybe in the ten minutes you could remove plants, rocks, ornaments etc...

    Murder Mystery

Recently I have had three guppy's die in my 70L (roughly 15.3 gallons) freshwater tank. The thing is they have all had shredded tails. This is very disturbing for me and I'd like to know if they were attacked and who by. Suspects, 4x Zebra Danio's - very active, seen to be 'chasing' the...

    Snails

I have two gold snails and they are fine, they slide about on the rocks. I have plastic plants so they don't eat them and they help clean the glass.

    New Gouramis Owner

Well my dwarf gourami is now dead, it was curled up in the corner breathing rapidly and it's normally white face was all blue and grey (bruised). I left it over night and it had died by the morning. :shout:

    New Gouramis Owner

I have recently brought a powder blue and a dwarf gourami, i think they are both males. After reading the posts will they fight till death? Should I take one back? They are already showing some aggressive behaviour now and then towards each other, they are sort of trying to touch each others...

    I Overfed My Fish

Just don't feed them for a couple of days. This happened to me and I found out that if fish eat loads it just passes straight through them and can pollute the water. Just do two 20% water changes per week and get your water tested if you can.

    Top Dwellers?

I have a small school of Zebra Danio's that swim around with the flow of the water and dart about about the top. I love them and they are great to watch because they are quite active.

    Ideas For A Cool Aquarium

I would just have a floor - ceiling mega huge tank but in a square/rectangle shape and separate it into four sections, I'd have each section as a different theme (eg: Natural, Finding Nemo, Caves, unusual etc). I'd have really colourful fish in it and loads of hiding places for fry. Maybe it...

Fishless Cycle. Do I Need To Water Change?

What Is The Best 'beginner' Gourami?

I have seen the Dwarf Gourami's in my local fish shop and I'm wondering whether they are the best and easiest Gourami to get for an absolute beginner. I have a 70L freshwater tank and I also would like to know how many I could get in there? Any suggestions? Thanks, xtremefishyfan

    Condensation

I had this problem before and the solution is very easy. All you need is a plastic lid that sits under the main lid but above the water level, this lid can also be used for algae snails. The condensation will then just stick to the plastic lid which will let light through and is easy to take...

    Condensation?

Thank you! About the plastic tray, my next door neighbour has a plastic tray but that is to keep his algae snails from climbing up onto the light. Is this the same thing? Is the snail lid a 2 in 1 lid or are you talking about something completely different from the snail lid. Xtremefishyfan

    Condensation?

Ok, 70L freshwater tank all set up with heater and filter, but one problem. Had it one night and there is condensation on the inside of the lid and on the light.
