I adore Bettas, have three at the moment and wanting more! Also have three other tanks with all sorts guppies, tetras, catfish, plecos, gouramis, harlequins etc. I'm always finding fish that I really like and wanting to take home. Unfortunately, have to wait until I get my next tank before I can get anymore

The problem is, a visit to this forum acts on our addiction like a trip down a local with his mates on your ordinary alcoholic. We ought to try to seek out clean friends instead, maybe even get professional help!

My other half could probably do with joining you He has 5 plecs at the moment and he wants a 5ft tank so he can buy some more! The trouble is they hide themselves so well that he hardly sees them, has a moan and then buys another one!

Definately Fishaholic,
To the point where its embarrasing. I'm not generally an obsessive person and used to put my nose up at people who have 'hobbies' seeing it as unsociable. I have always been an animal person but the fish thing is getting a little out of hand.

A very close friend had his first child the other day, we were at the pub and he was telling me the wonders of being a father and about its tiny hands and feet, bla bla bla. I realized I was watching his mouth move and nodding from time to time and pondering the much more important issue of interesting ways to enlarge my Cory shoal.

I also can't let visitors sit infront of the tank in the living room because I can't concentrate on anything said and will sporadically interrupt them to point out things happening in the tank that only I care about... "Oh! the Kribs are flirting again!"

This site has been an absolute saviour, I'm not sure I would have any friends left otherwise! I know how boring it can be if your not into something. I have a friend whos desperately into trees and I can let him talk for about 20mins before I glaze over, start blinking loads and have to pinch my arms secretly to appear awake.

What is it about fish?? I have my suspicions is its subconciously God Complex! We create little worlds and control every contributing factor to their existence. Hmmm!

We've got 6 now in our 5ft tank. We want bigger, better ones and are planning on an 8ft tank when we can move house.

Your OH must be buying the wrong plecs if they are all shy! Out of our 6, 4 are out and about all the time. One hides all the time but he is just a baby - only 1 1/2"

I am a defineate fishaholic and I haven't even got my fish (yet!). I am interested in the Dwarf Gourami's or Gourami's in general.
I am in the second day of my cycle and am getting fish on the 5th day (as recommended).

Even though I don't own many fish, I am a fishaholic. I read about fish all the time. I usually have my fish profile book with me all the time. And I just ordered two more books on fish. My favorite fish has always been plecos. I just have the self-control to never have more than one pleco at a time, but he is my favorite.
