My personal opinion is not to go for them at all. I could never keep their numbers under control and they always ended up munching on some of my plants. Theyre also a bugger to get rid of once you've got them without stripping out your entire tank. So i'd say don't go for them in a million years.

on the other hand apple snails are ok providing you get the right ones, bridgesii dont eat plants and lay eggs above the water so there easy to remove.

if your tank conditions are right and you dont have loaches i would say there a great thing to have

www.applesnail.net will give you all the info you need.

i keep and breed them :good:

I have two gold snails and they are fine, they slide about on the rocks. I have plastic plants so they don't eat them and they help clean the glass.
