I Overfed My Fish

i feel so stupid!!!

i just dropped alot of flake food in the tank

and it was all gobbled up by the cardinal tetras!!! nothing was left over

i guess theres nothing i can do exept pray that theyll be ok righT?

i did a waterchange ... not that thats gonna help...

If it was all eaten then its not overfed imo...over feeding is when there is a pile of food floating about that doesnt get eaten.

they must have been pretty hungry, if you say that you dropped lots in.

Just don't feed them for a couple of days. This happened to me and I found out that if fish eat loads it just passes straight through them and can pollute the water. Just do two 20% water changes per week and get your water tested if you can.

i once overfed my WCMMs on bloodworms and all that happened was instead of digesting the worms, the food passed through their systems whole without processing. Overfeeding can cause constipation, but the bigger concern is a jump in nitrates from uneaten food and the extra waste produced, and frequent water changes will take care of that. Just keep an eye on your water stats.
