I have been noticeing a rainbow colored film on the top of my tank. It looks like the oil you would see spilled on pavement. Should I be worried? Im cleaning the tank tonight im just wondering what could be causing this?

Mine looks like it should have a red light. The heater is made by marineland. It is also a 25 watt. I have yet to see the light come on. Nevermind. I just took a look at the heater and the light is on.

I just bought one today.. it said the dial is set in the 70s but i dont know if its working.. it has a light but its not turning on.. and i thought the heater was suposed to glow while it heated. am i wrong? is it broken? i dont want another dead fish :sad:

Hey welcome to the forum! Bettas are called fighting fish for a reason... males DO NOT get along they will fight.. so its best to have them in diffrent tanks!

My fish is more active at night also. I have not really thought much of it. When I go to feed him if I look inside his tank I get a reflection from the inside.. i hope that makes sense. Could it be that hes more active at night because he can see better?

I dont know much but I do know that if his fins are fallling of it sounds like fin rot..

If his fins are falling off it sounds like he could have finrot. I thought spring water was bad for them? do you have aquarium salt maybe putting some in will calm him..

I dont know much about bettas but I have been learning. My betta looked the same way. The way mine looked was if you put to much mascara on and get the "spider eyes" He MIGHT have fin rot? If I am wrong PLEASE someone say so. Its just a guess. I hope I helped.
