my male betta hasn't eaten since i got him home... well he has but i had to feed him all of my platty fry.sure all of my girls are pregnant (platies) but they aren't anywhere near due. what can i do to get him to eat. i tried freeze dried brine shrimp he doesn't like that. he does though eat even dead fry that were on the bottom of the bowel. will he eat frozen foods since he eats fry off the bottom? what do you think?

Try Feeding Him LIVE Foods, Such As Daphnia, Blood Worms, Brine Shrimp, Etc.If He Eats Fry I Cant See Why He Wouldnt Eat Those

I'm having the same problem with my betta. I've tried flakes, granules, and freeze dried foods.. I think I've seen him try to eat it and then spit it out. I was thinking maybe they're too big for his mouth. Any suggestions?

^My thoughts precisley.
Frozen brine shrimp and bloodworm are popular with my boys 'n' girls as are live foods. Freeze dried isn't all that popular with any of my fish so I wouldn't recommend it for a fussy fish.

how long have you had them??mine took just over two weeks to eat anything when i got him.........try beaking up the flakes or pellets/try crushing up some peas after removing skin..........also try live blood worm etc...... :alien: http://www.firsttankguide.net/betta.php

i've had him for about a week. judginf by what you said mine should come along. and about the dead fry at the bottom of the tank, they were there because i just scooped out of the fry and i think maybe i squished a couple and killed them. i'm out of fry, i'll try him on frozen foods. oh and i want to breed my crowntails that i'm getting but the only thing is that i don't know where i can buy cultured bloodworms and all that other cultured foods that the fry eat.

i don't even know where to get live Daphnia, Blood Worms, Brine Shrimp. my pet shop only sells it frozen

we feed the other males betta bio gold. the female in the community tank gets regular fish flakes. they all love the food they get. i live in a very secluded area in new york usa. there is only one lfs every like 45 min or so. i don't have means of transportation to go to any other places. i know they sell frozen foods so i'm going to try him on that and give my other bettas a treat :D

Has anyone had any luck with HBH Betta colorbright flakes? I bought the food along with freeze dried bloodworms when I got my betta. My betta HATES the flakes. Has anyone had any luck with it?I only used it 2 times. If anyone here uses them on there fish and lives in the u.s I will send it to them.. Since its not doing me any good.

i tried my male bettas on flakes and they looked at the food and looked at me as if saying "you want me to eat that?" lol my female though loves flakes but i am not sure if she would like betta flakes. she eats tetramin tropical flakes and loves them. she sucks them up like candy!!! :D

UPDATE!

I saw my male that was giving me trouble take a bite out of one of his pellets!!!! YAY!!!!
