My fishes fins have a weird white crusty looking stuff at the ends what could it be? and how can I fix it?

What size bowl and how many times do you do water changes?

I just got the fish on sunday. So the last water change was sunday. The tank is 2.5 gal

Hmm, water changes and size sound alright.. chances are it's finrot that was just caused by general stress. Do a full water change, and treat with tetracycline or a brand-name medication that treats fin rot. You might not notice it getting better for a while. If you aren't usuing aquarium salt, start now.
