If you insist... So if a fish has a certain element to its personality, it effects the size tank needed?? an oscar is an oscar. A fahaka is a Fahaka... As nice as they may be, a bigger tank is required...

Me? jelous? of you??? I laugh at the concept... I dont need to prove my point. My information is valid. In practise, a minimum is considered a 40 gallon tank for a single specimen, Just like the way you keep an oscar AND a fahaka puffer in the same 4x2x2 tank.. so jelous? i think not

I am not rude. But why must one be so childish on the topic? its quite obvious that you only reply to try and spite. As iv mentioned, i would NOT keep a severum in that sized tank personally, and would not keep an oscar in a 4x2. And would most deffinalt not keep the fish which you have all...

For a person who keeps a asian arrowana in a 5ft tank along with an asortment of large cichlids, you speak rather quickly and confidently. Im not here to continue to argue with you and be childish with these comments, It is quite clear what you are doing as it has previously got me banned from...

    Mini Discus

By begginer i mean new to the more advanced levels of fish keeping. You are aware you are going to have to buy the water to use for water changes, feed 3 - 4 times a day and keep the water quality perfect. Discus are not the easiest fish to keep and are not the cheapest things to mess around with.
  17. D

    Personality

that was my exact quote. A severum should be adequate for that sized aquarium. It is not ideal, but a much better choice than the green terror. A 10" specimen is unusual, Severums usually stay at about 8".

    Mini Discus

a bit late, but basically there are two species of discus. the commonly known Heckel discus stay slightly smaller than the 'green' discus ( many common names given for both) but even the heckel will grow to about 6". Not for the begginer fish keeper. Dan

    Archocentrus Centrarchus

mine is about 6" and top show quality. A steal at £12... I am deffinatly going to show him if i decide to keep him. Turquoise discus in my work at 3" are £80
  20. D

    Personality

A 10" severum is a rather large specimen - usually they are found at about 8" average. it is a thiner fish although more deep bodied but isnt as aggressive as a green terror and a less active, more docile swimmer. By the way. If you read my previous replies, youd find i said " at a push you...

Cheap? i doubt. I only had them this prive because i bought them privetly - the red malboro is worth £250 - £300.

Potentially, but rarely does, the severum is a fish growing to about 8" and has a much smaller body mass than the green terror, and I was not telling you, i was informing the person who enquired about the larger cichlids as to not follow instructions from people like you. The green terror is a...

Who said anything about £60?? :shifty:
  26. D

    Personality

A green terror ( aquidens rivulas ) can grow potentially to 12", the severum is likely to stay at around 8". Severum may not be community fish, but are alot more placid than the green terror, also the green terror, is fish with a much higher body mass than the severum, and requires the length pf...

did i mention that i wanted my red malboro out??? :shifty:
  28. D

    Personality

even then, Dont go for the Aequidens Rivulatus ( green terror) or any other cichlids from the Aequidens genus, All are generally large fish, too large for your tank. Stick with possibly a severum.. or as previously mentioned, a pair or Festivum cichlids, with this you can be more flexible with...

    Archocentrus Centrarchus

15 gallons is still to small to house this number of fish. Discus angel, I really would advise agaist the convicts, although they may me smaller, they are just as agressive and territorial as normal cons, Plus due to the interbreeding to acheive such body structures, the convicts will be most...

    Archocentrus Centrarchus

Personally, i would make it a planted tank with a pair of Rams, but thats my thought, im a cichlid guy myself... however, a channa bleheri could work. I wouldnt go with the cons.. too big and agressive. Hmm, you could go for the fig 8st, it might work, but i wouldnt recomend it with the gobies...

    Personality

For a 41 gallon all those previously mentioned faish are far too large. A green terror canpotentially be a large 10" monster, requiring a tank of 60 gallons minimum, the corner tanks arnt really adeuate for the larger cichlids due to the shorter lenght and they're increased hight which is th...

    Archocentrus Centrarchus

6-7 rams? most deffinalty not. All cichlids show some degree of territorial behaviour. A pair of rams would be maximum in a 15 gallon... theoreticly you get get 4 in there, but chances are they'll start breding etc and territorial behaviour will be emphasised, A pair would be recomeneded for...

    Archocentrus Centrarchus

no problem - however, if you have got the tank, id go for it. This is an increasingly rare member of the archocentrus.

    Archocentrus Centrarchus

Awesome! flyer cichlids. My personal Favorite of all american cichlids. These fish which are in the same genus as the convict and sajica cichlid are highly agressive, especially towards breeding. The male is a deep bodied 6" monster of a fish. VEry highly agressive and territorial. I had these...

You shurely cant claim that these fish are fine, For the time being, maybe, but a pair of angels will require a 30g to themselves

Geo-geopartae? (sp) Chews Gravel And Spits It Out?

They CAN be kept singulary and arnt over agressive fish. But i would personally not keep it singulary, And yes, they grow large, If it is indeed satanaperca Jurapari, id keep 3 in maybe a 120g. Dan

    What Is Wrong Here?

Hi. Most deffinatly get both fish into a bigger tank. Your friend is going to basically kill the fish slowly over a period of several months. GEt a 20 gallon minimum for the goldfish and by dragon fish, are you referring to the dragon goby? Both fish require a larger tank, the goby - a 55...
