They look like they have some convict in them. I think they're called the Flier Cichid? They get to around 8" or so. I would definatly get a bigger tank. Maybe when they're tiny you could house them in a 15G but a 35G is better. They like to sift sand from the bottom. Treat as any normal small cichlid.

Hi, yea there cousins of the convicts. but i likethe blue! lol. yes there a flier cichlid. and females reach 4" and males 6" they would be the only fish in the tank so... but its a spare tank and not sure what else to get. i readhere that a man kept and bred them in a 15g by them selves... so i dno but i think ther coooooool lol.

Awesome! flyer cichlids. My personal Favorite of all american cichlids.
These fish which are in the same genus as the convict and sajica cichlid are highly agressive, especially towards breeding. The male is a deep bodied 6" monster of a fish. VEry highly agressive and territorial. I had these in with a Vieja Synspilla and he compleatly battered him. Keep males and female if you want the brilliant black dressing found in that pic ( breeding colours) and 15 gallons is a little small. Keep a pair in a 40 gallon Minimum as these are slightly larger than your common convict cichlid. IV kept and bred and also shown these fish. If you need any information dont hesitate to pm me... p.s. there is a article on these in the fish index by myself.
To show you the how agressive, and large these fish are, here is a vid of my male..flyer cichlid.

no problem - however, if you have got the tank, id go for it. This is an increasingly rare member of the archocentrus.

6-7 rams? most deffinalty not. All cichlids show some degree of territorial behaviour. A pair of rams would be maximum in a 15 gallon...
theoreticly you get get 4 in there, but chances are they'll start breding etc and territorial behaviour will be emphasised, A pair would be recomeneded for this size tank.

my thoughts exactly,

but i may be making it one of these;

2 Short body con tank.
----
2 Kribs tank.
----
1 Channa Bleheri
----
1 Fig 8, 2 Small gobys (brackish)
----
2 Rams tank.
----
1- Maybe 2 red eye puffers
----
Jewels, but maybe nt little to big for a 15g

what cha thinks best?

Personally, i would make it a planted tank with a pair of Rams, but thats my thought, im a cichlid guy myself...
however, a channa bleheri could work.
I wouldnt go with the cons.. too big and agressive.
Hmm, you could go for the fig 8st, it might work, but i wouldnt recomend it with the gobies. And bottom dweller are likely to be nipped.
Rams - yup that seems a good idea
Again you could go with a red eye puffer.
Personally, id go heavily planted with a pair of Ram cichlid in there. Heavily planted tanks can look highly attractive, I currently own a 60 gallon american Biotope and have had nothing but amazing comments from people who have seen it..
Give it a try..!
