I like my harlequin rasboras, they are a nice shoaling fish and their colors compliment the greenery well. Other favorites of small size are neons or cardinal tetras.

I've got a little over 2 wpg and diy co2 in my 29 gallon tank. However, the only type of algae at all in the aquarium is green spot algae on my glass sides. What nutrient deficiency or excess is causing it? I use fluorish liquid ferts as directed.

looks like your off to a good start, but i think you should try to develop more of a foreground, midground, background with the plants.

Yeah ottos are great, unfortunately only 1 out of 3 i buy survive the first month.

I myself do not support wild caught fish, as must of their environments are being threatened and the species may no longer exist in the wild, but that's just my opinion.

I really like how they have everything, from the clear tubed filtration to the aquarium glass, but aquariums like that would empty wallets.

mine was taking over my tank so i just cut all the 10 or so stems to the bulb. Now its regrowing and i really like it better when its only a couple inches off the substrate instead of the tank surface.

I have a fluval 204 for my 29 gallon with only foam and the ceramic rings. Don't use carbon or other things ment to remove things chemically.

Too much cost for me, i just use the sponge and water treatment combo. Every canister in my fluval has a sponge, :P

One of my female guppies is almost that size, ill be a happy person if i get that many.

You can get color with the praecox. They're main body is blueish silver and their fins will be red or yellow, depending on the sex of the fish.

They're a very nice fish and may just be getting adjusted to things. Once they get older, they will greet you once you walk in the room with the tank in it. I try to hide from them so i can observe them without them rushing to the top to the surface.

My guess is they died and then floated/got sucked into the filter. Even my half inch neons can outswim the current.

They're just establishing their nipping order, its a natural occurence.

I have a juvenile neon dwarf rainbow and as the topic title says, it cant open its mouth. As a result, the little guy can not eat. Its so sad cause it tries to peck at food but cant open its mouth. My guess is internal parasite of some sort? Should i treat it as a parasite?

By buying fish to "save" them then you are really just supporting it. Walmart sees the profit and continues selling dyed fish.

Heh i like looking at the pictures and trying to guess what he will say, i can usually get it right by just guessing "needs stem plants in background" cause he really likes his stem plants.

My wisteria does the same thing, it should be a natural thing cause i have flourite, root tabs, and liquid fertilizer.

You should see my danio that has a spine like a snake /\/\ and swims in spirals. I feel real sorry for him, but I let him live cause somehow he manages to get his own food.
