A D A Nature Aquarium Gallery Trip

I really like how they have everything, from the clear tubed filtration to the aquarium glass, but aquariums like that would empty wallets.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Beautiful tanks, but... with an endless supply of money there's plenty of people who could come up with something comparable. It's making a beautiful tank when you're limited in resources that I find more respectable :)

thos tubings really are too expensive :( ive been thinking of having one imported for my next tank :( or i could contract a local glass manufacturer to make one for me ? :D ehehehehehe what do you guys think ? man those tanks are so calming...

Page 3, bottom centre for me, or should i win the lottery, page 4, top left.
I have to agree with pseud though, I'd love to see what gf, zig, jimbooo and a few more of our regulars could do with equipment like that.

anyone fancy sponsering a tff team tank. with an endless supply of cash we'd have so much fun. i'm thinking along the lines of a swiming pool tank as in page 4!!

old whitewood could get the tank and glass bits (he's good at that). zig could do the forground and bogwood sourcing, gf could sort the general layout and chemical stuff and i could sort out the riccia.

any offers.. oh yes and a helicopter to bring us all together would be kind of handy!

sorry daydreaming... back to work now  laters people

Stunning pics i love the natural look.

Theres got to be a stock brocker or two on here, if we out all our money into a pot, and invest it, we could all aford one when we make our millions

Sickening pictures! Again stunning tanks from ADA. The most difficult thing to achieve with these ADA style tanks are the hardscape materials, the wood they use and the rocks, you simply can't get stuff like that in aquatics shops. Even ADAs own wood which they offer for sale does not seem comparible to the pictures I've seen in my Aquajournals. You can pretty much do a quite decent ADA style tank using the same ideas as them but obviously not their actual tanks, I agree with what you guys are saying on here, you can pick and choose equipment available to the average aquarist to create something approaching one of their tanks, it's what I've been trying to do at the moment.

The other thing to consider is yes their tanks do cost a lot but ADA equipment is simply beautifully designed and made, in the west we tend to look at functionality and cost when we're setting up our tanks, but the japanese ADA enthusiasts are looking at something which is functional but also well designed and made of the highest quaility, they dont mind paying so much for glassware and stuff like that whereas I think over here especially in the UK right now people are more reticent to part with the cash on these products. Things are changing though, and guys on here like George are creating and maintaing stunning tanks which in turn is going to inspire more people which should make the planted tank side of the hobby more popular.

un-real tanks..... beautiful!

Yes, imagining having the money to put together and maintain such a tank, can make up a nice day dream....

But honestly, when i walk into my house after work, grab a beer from the fridge, and plop down on the couch in front of the tank, all the pressure of the day dissappears..... ;)

and thats why I have a tank B)

with unlimited suply of greeners it's easy
Only if you have the know how! ;)

ADA equipment is beautifully designed and its price is set accordingly. Amano himself would not put his name to anything less than bespoke after all.

If I could calculate the total cost of my aquarium so far I would say it's not far off the same (if not more) cost as setting up a similar sized ADA tank. However, the knowledge and experience I have gained from the start far outweighs any monetry value

I think setting up a high tech planted tank is actually about the same as a berlin style reef tank. I reckon my tank has cost £1000 so far which is probably looking at it on the cheap side!
