it really depends on the size of the fish tbh. a fully grown severum is a very chunky and powerfull fish to have and against an angelfish there would be only 1 winner if it got a bit rough in there. it may work, it may not but i would be more concerned about the gouramis as these can be nasty...

yes i had 2 in there at one time but they couldnt live together so 1 was removed pretty fast. very aggressive towards each other.

yeah it wasnt an easy choice but it had to happen one day. he was a great looking and quite rare catfish that is ideal with any larger fish due to its calm nature and protective armour. i would love to have seen him at full size although the buyer was from the forum and lives only a few miles...

are you feeding them too much? uneaten food will add to the nitrate content if left long enough...

as salam says really try selling them on here or gumtree and if no luck offer them for free to someone who can take them or last resort take them back to an lfs and see if you can part exchange them for other fish. some lfs will not give anything for fish taken in and some will so choose one...

ive had no issues with my wilds in harder water. i dont use ro or peat etc just good old tap water and they are fine so i wouldnt worry about that too much. i have 7 bolivian rams in with my angels and they spawned the other day :hyper: eggs didnt last though as there are too many hungry mouths...

the white are infertile so there are quite a few unfortunately :sad: as far as im aware this is the first spawn but with there being so many greedy mouths in the tank i doubt they will last long. i would love to try and breed these bolivians as they are stunning examples with very bright...

i would keep an eye on the Crenicichla strigata, i had one of these a while ago and it grew extremely fast and became quite an aggressive fish. it was in with fully grown big cichlids and didnt hold back.... if it grows at the rate mine did then it will out grow the others and pikes will attack...

keep up with the water changes and it will sort itself out eventually.

yeah it may even return to normal sooner but just keep one eye on the parameters just incase
