Fish For The Bottom Of Aquarium

Depending on the fish you keep, cherry shrimp may be your best choice. Cories really should be kept in groups of at least 6 of the same species.

    Stocking Question

Here's a link to the danio, with good information.... http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/danio-kyathit/ I would set it up as an unheated tank. Saves you money on a heater, unless the room gets super cold in the winter. Then I'd add a heater and set at about 65-70° for the winter. Add your...

    Advice For A New Tank

Yeah, add the female condition her with good frozen and live foods for about a week then add the male. Within a couple of days they should spawn. If they don't an 80% water change will often induce spawning. Once they have, remove the female, after the fry are free swimming remove the male...

    The Misses First Cube.

Adding a spray bar to the outlet of the filter may help. Adding shrimp, pygmy cories or dwarf chain loaches will also keep things stirred up as they move around. Btw, going to look really good once its filled in. The hardscape is very well done.

    What Are These Worms?

If you have live plants, they could be nematodes. What types of fish do you have, and what size aquarium do you have? Planaria tend to be flat and kind of diamond shaped. Either way loaches and cory cats will enjoy them. Also some of the sand sifting cichlids.

    Old Tail Disease?

I've seen spots like that on crays and other decapods. Sometimes they are just variations when they molt. Usually on the next molt they will either go away or increase. Either way, unless they are raised or fuzzy, I wouldn't worry.

    Advice For A New Tank

Rams would be fine in an 80 ltr. Pearl gouramis would need at least 30 gallons imo for 1 m/3 f. But you could breed a pair in a 15 gallon, if you keep them sexes separated until they are ready to breed. After they have bred, remove the female back to the community tank.

    Tadpoles As Feeders?

Some species are toxic, that would be my only concern. Lots of predatory fish will eat tadpoles and frogs, so I would probably try if I knew the species of frog in question.

How To Install Drip Tray In 3 Foot Tank Help/advice Needed

    Something Wrong With My Guppy...

Sounds like a fish in cycle. They are probably showing the signs of ammonia/nitrite poisoning at this point. Sometimes it doesn't right away. White feces is a sign that a fish hasn't been eating.

    Malawi Cichlid Tank

Personally, I like to use wet/dry filters on anything 100 gallons and up, but there is nothing wrong with using canister filters. Just be sure to use at least 2, since you'll want to over stock a Malawi tank to curb aggression.

    Another Newbie Seeking Advice

Here is an article about non heated aquariums. http://www.seriouslyfish.com/whaddaya-mean-too-hot/ The paradise fish will get to large, the Betta needs temps closer to 78F, so i would say those are out. There are many temperate species that are sold as tropicals, most Danios fall into this...

    New(Ish) Tank!

In a tank that size, if you only want serpae tetras, you could safely increase the number of them to 15-20 of them. They wouldn't be crowded and would look awesome.

    Help With Stocking!

Your choices are good too. You could add 6-8 male guppies for color. I wouldn't add females, they aren't as colorful, and if you aren't interested in breeding them, why bother? I agree about the frogs, they really should be in a tank setup for them. Shrimp will work well with the fish you have...

That's actually the anal fin. The pelvics would be the two on the chest. Anyway, it looks pretty damaged, it may grow back some, but will never grow back completely. If you intend to breed them, then a chewed of fin won't affect how the offspring look.

I'll start... fish to rehome or give to a fish store; two of the gouramis, pleco and silver dollar. Breeding Pair Split?

Pretty good they'll pair up. Rams and most other Cichlids don't pair for life. They will within the confines of an aquarium, but in nature it rarely happens that the same two fish spawn more than once or twice in a life time.

Safe Nitrate For Cherry Shrimp (Bga Issue)

Low NItrate as a cause is new to me. Anyway, shrimp should have Nitrate levels below 20ppm to be at their best. Also follow the instructions on the nitrate test kit exactly. If you don't readings of 5ppm or less are the usual results. Add 10 drops of #1 shake. Shake bottle #2 for at least 30...

Why Do My Severum Pair's Eggs Keep Going Fuzzy?

I only use and would recommend Methylene blue, if the parents are not in the tank, ie: egg scatters, cichlids that have their eggs removed. I also never filter those tanks, because of the reason pointed out by MBOU. After the eggs hatch, I do a few of water changes over the next few days, then...

The rams are a genetic mutation for that balloon body. The problem with balloon bodied fish is they develop issues with.there organs and generally don't live as long as normal body fish. Breeding Pair Split?

Your female will be ok, either by herself or with another male. Personally, I would wait to add any new fish. Since you seem to have some kind of virus or bacteria attacking your fish.
  36. thereverendturtle

Why Do My Severum Pair's Eggs Keep Going Fuzzy?

How old are the fish? Sometimes they will breed when they aren't actually old enough and the eggs won't be viable. Usually the male is the immature one. There is also two other possibilities, 1) one fish is sterile, or 2) they are both female. Good luck!

Anyone Have The Aqua One Nano 30?

I would take it back myself. If the new one has the same issue, the thing I do with noisy pumps, is to add a nylon bashing or washers to the impeller shaft to make it a tighter fit. They keep the impeller from bouncing around.

Possible Case Of Ich And Salt Method To Resolve

Raise the temp over two or three days to 86° so that doesn't add extra stress. Nothing you have is overly sensitive to salt. I usually add a Tbl spoon of salt per 5 gallons, for three consecutive days. Leave it that way for a week, unless something shows stress. Good luck, I hope I'm able to help.
