There shouldn't be any need for a therapeutic adding of salt.  Moving them over should go easily... just remember to acclimatize them same way you would if you were bringing them from the shop.

I'd say ebay, or list in various tropical classifieds.  If you are looking to get rid of so very many you might be having to give them away free.  Have you tried approaching your LFS to discuss them?

I have a hob with an extra spout and can turn the direction it points, so I have mine pointed straight at the heater (about 2 inches away) and the heater breaks the current just right.  I also have tall plants that reach the surface and break some current.

Is your friend giving you filter media from his/her filter?  (half a sponge or filter floss, etc)  If so, then adding that to your filter will help a great deal.

Unfortunately, pet shops are notorious for giving bad advice... and most of us, including me, have made the mistake in trusting their advice... you will learn eventually that a pet store clerk that gives you great advice is a rare find.   In a brand new tank your ammonia will build up quickly...

Might not work with your type of tank... but I placed opaque white plastic table cloth (super thin disposable type) across my condensation tray to shade my light and within 2 weeks I had about 70% less algae (it just flaked off and fell into the gravel and I'd see it when doing a gravel...

Done!   Amelia (the honey) was the very first to discover the cage and has been having a really good look at it but won't be finding a way inside!  

  Yes, they do come down to scavenge from time to time but are mostly in the top 1/4 of the tank.

I will try for some pictures... but so far I've not managed a single one in focus since I got them about 3 weeks ago!  LOL   I've not seen any evidence of them jumping at all.

Someone should have told me about these sooner.  They are super awesome little fish.  I impulse bought some of these when I bought a replacement male honey gourami.  They are so personable and cute!!  They don't seem to school/shoal ever (other than the first day I got them a few weeks back) and...
