Someone should have told me about these sooner.  They are super awesome little fish.  I impulse bought some of these when I bought a replacement male honey gourami.  They are so personable and cute!!  They don't seem to school/shoal ever (other than the first day I got them a few weeks back) and I adore their little glowing eyes!  Mine are all still baby size (though about 3 have shown some significant growth already) but they are cute as a button.

Just wanted to say.  I may consider adding more of them  in the future.

At the moment my tank is s 20g with two honey gourami and 6 normans lampeyes. (and a few shrimp and snails).

Let us know how you get on with them. I've always liked Lampeyes and considered getting them for my 35L, when I no longer need it as a fry tank. I was a bit discouraged by reports that they will jump out of the tank. Anyway, show us some pictures/vid, would love to see more of them!

I will try for some pictures... but so far I've not managed a single one in focus since I got them about 3 weeks ago!  LOL

I've not seen any evidence of them jumping at all.

i've kept these guys, never had one jump, beautiful little fish indeed

Cute - real top dwellers, huh?

Yes, they do come down to scavenge from time to time but are mostly in the top 1/4 of the tank.

Pump some worms into them - I'd like to see 'em in a FotM.

Their mouths are too small for blood worms at the moment!  LOL  I have been having to make sure to crush the flakes even!  They do love their food though.

Thats what I thought about my gudgeons, but somehow they sucked them right up!! I swear she could eat more worms than most of her body weight!

i went out and bought six of them today, i'm thinking of making it a shoal of 10 at some point

Yay!  Hope you enjoy them!  I am thinking I may add a few more in the future.

they were in a tank with tiger barbs, so it was an impulse buy pretty much, i've got two with nipped fins, otherwise, they're healthy and happy and eating like little demonic dustbin fish

I am really impressed with mine.  Their health has been perfect and they adjusted to my tank wonderfully.
